Junkyard Challenge B Scoring

Distance Score = D

If at least one ball reaches or goes beyond the target distance, which the team chooses, the team will receive the distance (D) (measured in mm) to the target as described in each challenge only one time no matter how many additional balls reach or go beyond the target.

Bonus Points = D x (N+1)
N = number of balls that remain in the collection container or hit the target plate on first impact.

Total Score = D + Bonus Points

= D + [D x (N+1)]

Scoring Examples:

Elevated Ramp – 5 plastic golf balls were used

  1. Example #1
  2. 4 plastic golf balls go beyond the collection container but none of them stay in the container (of these 4, the shortest direct, straight-line distance between the golf ball and the collection container is 1 meter)
  3. 1 plastic golf ball does not make it to the collection container
  4. Score: 1000 pts + no bonus = 1000 pts
  1. Example #2
  2. 3 plastic golf balls go beyond the collection container but none of them stay in the container (of these 3, the shortest direct, straight-line distance between the golf ball and the collection container is 1 meter)
  3. 1 plastic golf ball makes it into the collection container and stays there (the direct, straight-line distance between the golf ball and the collection container is 1.5 meters)
  4. 1 plastic golf ball does not make it to the collection container
  5. Score: 1000 pts + [1000 pts x (1 + 1)] = 3000 pts
