Development NIGHTS

Over February, four development nights will be held on Friday evenings from 5pm to 6:30.

These sessions provide developmental training to all players as well as some non-competitive games. The Friday night development program develops netball skills in all players prior to the start of the season and gives players a chance to get to know each other.

This developmental period also assists the committee and coaches to assess players to put together balanced teams. Different teams are formed to trial different combinations of players and to ensure players are fairly allocated to teams. It is important to attend these Development nights.

Netball is a team sport. Every player should attend training to improve their skills, develop their knowledge of the rules and to develop team skills. The skills and techniques taught at training are applied at fixtures and carnivals.

Though coaches try to make training sessions enjoyable, all players should be aware that developing basic netball skills (e.g. learning how to catch and throw a ball properly) are essential, but not always fun!

Whenever you cannot attend training for some reason, please be courteous and let your coach know.
