ELIGIBLE BREEDS & REGISTRY: Only purebred Afghan Hounds, Basenjis, Borzois, Greyhounds, Ibizan Hounds, Irish Wolfhounds, Italian Greyhounds, Pharaoh Hounds, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Salukis, Scottish Deerhounds and Whippets that are one year of age or older, that have been registered with The American Kennel Club, or part of an AKC-registered litter, or otherwise, if whelped outside of the United States of America and owned by a resident of the USA, or of a country with a foreign registry organization whose pedigrees are acceptable for AKC registration and is registered with that registry, or that have been granted an Indefinite Listing Privilege (ILP), are eligible to participate in lure coursing tests and trials. Azawakh, Portuguese Podengos (Medio & Grande ONLY), Sloughis, and Thai Ridgebacks one year of age or older, that have been recorded with the Foundation Stock Service, or that have been granted an ILP are eligible to enter in Lure Coursing Tests and Trials and be awarded the prefix title of Field Champion and the suffix titles of Junior Courser, Senior Courser or Master Courser. Hounds may not be entered as “registration pending” or “ILP Pending.” Breed disqualifications apply. **Note: Azawakhs, Italian Greyhounds, Portuguese Podengos, Sloughis, and Thai Ridgebacks are not eligible to compete for Best in Field.**

TESTS OFFERED:

·  JUNIOR COURSER: Open to all eligible Afghans, Azawakh, Basenjis, Borzois, Greyhounds, Ibizan Hounds, Irish Wolfhounds, Italian Greyhounds, Pharoh Hounds, Portugese Podengos (Medio & Grande ONLY), Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Salukis, Scottish Deerhounds, Sloughis, Thai Ridgebacks, and Whippets. A hound running alone shall receive a certification from a Judge on one date and a second certification from a different judge at a later date, stating that the hound completed a 600 yard course with a minimum of (4) turns. The hound must complete the course with enthusiasm and without interruption. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT JUNIOR COURSER HOUNDS ENTERING THE OPEN STAKE FOR THE FIRST TIME HAVE SUCCESSFUL EXPERIENCE WITH OTHER HOUNDS BEFORE COMPETING.

TRIAL STAKES OFFERED:

·  Open Stake: Open to all hounds of an eligible breed that have attained at least one of the following. AKC Junior Courser, ASFA Field Champion Title, CKC Field Champion Title, AKC Field Champion Title. Hounds that are disqualified or dismissed twice from AKC, ASFA, or CKC Field trials may not be entered.

·  Open Veterans Stake: Open to all hounds of an eligible breed to enter Open or Specials stakes who meet the age requirement for a veteran as established by the breed’s parent club. Championship points will be awarded.

·  Specials Stake: Open to all hounds that are eligible to enter the Open Stake and have earned their AKC Field Championship Title. Specials may compete for LCX points.

·  Best In Field Will be Offered: All Best of Breed winners, with the exception of Azawakh, Italian Greyhound, Portuguese Podengo, Sloughi, and Thai Ridgeback, shall be eligible to compete.

GENERAL:

Ø  All hounds will run twice, in trios if possible, or braces, unless excused, dismissed, or disqualified.

Ø  Hounds not present at the time of roll call will be scratched after a 5 minute grace period.

Ø  Each entry will be examined at inspection for breed disqualifications.

Ø  Bitches in season and lame hounds will be excused.

Ø  Spayed or neutered hounds, without breed disqualifications, may be entered.

Ø  Battery powered, continuous loop lure machines will be used. Back up equipment will be available. Lure will consist of white plastic strips.

Ø  The course will be reversed for finals and run-offs.

Ø  THERE WILL BE A $5.00 FINE ASSESSED FOR ANY LOOSE HOUND NOT TAKING PART IN THE COURSE IN PROGRESS

Ø  PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN SHELTER, WATER, AND LUNCH.

Ø  THE FIELD COMMITTEE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO BAR KNOWN AGGRESSIVE HOUNDS FROM THE TRIAL SITE.

OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATIONS:

Ø  THERE WILL BE LIMITED CAMPING ON SITE.

Ø  All persons with onsite overnight parking MUST park in designated parking area. PLEASE Stop at the gate for parking instructions.

Ø  Heavier vehicles will be allowed to park on the right side of the driveway.

Ø  Lighter and 4WD vehicles will be able to camp on the outside of the field.

Misty Rivers Plantation

Misty Rivers Plantation is the home of Howard and Judy Brawn along with several Irish Wolfhounds. It is located on Puget Island in Wahkiakum County, State of Washington. A bridge over the north channel of the Columbia River connects Puget Island with Cathlamet, WA. Ferry service across the south channel of the Columbia River provides access with US 30 in the state of Oregon. Located near the mouth of the Columbia, summer temperatures on Puget Island are moderate with a sea breeze each afternoon.

The lure coursing field at Misty Rivers Plantation is flat and mown. It is surrounded on two sides by a slough and fenced on the other two sides. Non-potable water is available at the site. Local food services are limited to small grocery stores and a few local restaurants. Come prepared.

Off of I-5 take Exit 39 West toward Kelso/Longview 0.2 miles.

Turn LEFT onto Allen St/WA-4. Continue on Allen St 0.9 miles. Allen St. becomes W Main St. 0.2 miles.

Turn Left onto W. Cowlitz Way / Wa 4 less than 0.1 mile. Turn Slightly Right onto Ocean Beach Hwy / Wa 4 go .25.2 miles.

Turn Left onto Main St / WA 409. Continue to follow WA 409 for 2.0 miles.

Turn Right onto W. BERNIE SLOUGH RD 0.8 miles.

Turn Left onto Cross Dike Rd after 0.7 miles. End at 117 Cross Dike Rd.

I certify that I am the actual owner of the dog, or that I am the duly authorized agent of the actual owner whose name I have entered above. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry, I (we) agree to abide by the rules and regulations of The American Kennel Club in effect at the time of this event, and any additional rules and regulations appearing in the premium list of this event and entry form and any decision made in accord with them. I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog. Additionally, I (we) hereby assume the sole responsibility for and agree to indemnify, defend and save the aforementioned parties harmless from any and all loss and expense (including legal fees) by reason of the liability imposed by law upon any of the aforementioned parties for damage because of bodily injuries, including death at any time resulting therefrom, sustained by any person or persons, including myself (ourselves), or on account of damage to property, arising out of or in consequence of my (our) participation in this event, however such, injuries, death or property damage may be caused, and whether or not the same may have been caused or may be alleged to have been caused by the negligence of the aforementioned parties or any of their employees, agents, or any other persons.
