How to enter

1.  All entries and payments must be made using the on-line entry module via the Judo Queensland website www.jfaq.com.au

2.  The entry link will be enabled from 5 January 2016. No entries will be accepted after midnight of Thursday 3 March 2016.

3.  International players: you must register your player’s entries on-line by Thursday 3 March 2016. Your manager may pay the entry fees in $A at the registration desk on Friday 4 March 2016 prior to the weigh-in.

Entry fees

1.  Discount fees if paid prior to 28 February: Kids, Boys / Girls / Special Needs divisions: $30 / Cadet, Junior, Senior, Masters, Kata (per pair): $ 50 / Camp $30 per day or $50 for two days for all ages

2.  Full fee after 28 February: Kids, Boys Girls Special Needs divisions full fee if paid after 28 February $45 / Cadets Junior, Senior, Masters, Kata (per pair): full fee if paid after 28 February $65

3.  Spectators over 18 years - $10 at the door per day / Under 18 years a gold coin

4.  Entry closes, and no entries will be accepted after, midnight of Thursday 3 March 2016. No refunds apply after this time.

Weigh-in

5.  Players may change weight categories up until the close of the weigh-in.

6.  Cadet, Junior Men/Women and Senior M/W must weigh-in on either Friday 4 March between 5 and 7 pm or Saturday 5 March between 8 and 9 am. Players who have not weighed-in during the above times will forfeit their entries.

7.  Junior Boys and Girls and Senior Boys and Girls divisions weigh-in on the day of competition.

Accreditation at the venue

8.  All players must collect the accreditation pass at the venue before weighing-in.

9.  Two accreditation passes will be given free of charge to a club or country official with entered players provided those Coaches or Managers register online by Thursday 3 March 2016.

Eligibility requirements

10.  All competitors must be a financial member of a JFA Inc. member state or territory or a National Federation affiliated with the International Judo Federation. Those who are not may register with Judo Queensland via www.jfaq.com.au.

11.  All players must present a registration card at accreditation. IJF Registration cards are not mandatory

12.  International players must also present their passport and must provide evidence of an insurance policy covering against injury.

13.  Juniors - Yellow belt or equivalent is the minimum entry level requirement for all junior divisions and all junior players must have experienced at least one competition prior to entering the QIO.

14.  Cadet, Junior M/W and senior M/W: Green belt or senior orange belt equivalent is the minimum entry level requirement.

Sport rules

15.  Participants must display respectful sporting behaviour, etiquette and are accountable under the JFA Code of Conduct

16.  For Boys / Girls, the JFA Sport Code will apply. For others, the IJF contest rules will apply.

17.  Junior or Senior Boys/Girls using kansetsu waza (armlocks) or shime waza (strangling) will be disqualified without warning.

18.  Special needs competitors may weigh-in on the day and may nominate for ne-waza shiai only.

19.  The JFA Special Needs Rules will apply: www.ausjudo.com.au (policies tab) refers. Contestants may not use kansetsu waza (armlocks) or shime waza (strangles) or Masutemi-waza (back sacrifice throws). Yoko-sutemi waza (side sacrifice) and Makikomi actions are allowed for level 1s /2s.

20.  The event policy is to consider competitor welfare as a priority and provide as many contests as possible. However, the Sport Director may apply absolute discretion to combine or not run divisions subject to entries or use a pools system.

21.  Correct belt colours and blue and white judo-gi are required for all divisions including boys and girls and Judo-gi or team apparel are mandatory at medal presentations. Judo suits with IJF logos are not mandatory.

Awards

·  Medals for 1st, 2nd, 3rd places will be awarded subject to the player having won one fight.

·  Trophies for best Australian and International clubs (day 1) using: entry (1 point) bronze (2 pts) silver (3 pts) Gold (4 pts).

·  Competitive Spirit of Judo Awards may be awarded by the organising committee for outstanding play and spirit
