Jewel 1 of Triple Crown Event
SSDA, CCDA and USBCHA Sanctioned
Approximate start time – 1:00 pm – Mankota Rodeo Grounds.
**Two runs are planned – due to time constraints, second run may occur the following day, starting at 12 OR be completed the night of May 24th at the stockyards.
Trial Location – On highway 13, turn south at Kincaid (pavement) or Hazenmore (grid) to get to Mankota. Rodeo grounds next to Grasslands Inn

Payout after expenses/Run Classes offered – Ranch1,2/Nursery/OpenRanch 1 open to non open handlers. Ranch 2 open to open handlers with non open dogs Nursery open to dogs which will be 3 years or younger as of Dec 31, 2014

General Agreement
In consideration that my dog(s) and I will be participating in the above named stock dog trial, I understand that I am responsible for any and all costs incurred as a result of damages caused by myself, my family or my dogs to the facilities, animals and/or people. I hereby agree that in the event of personal injury or damage to my property or animals, I will not hold the Saskatchewan Stock Dog Association (SSDA) the owners of the livestock, sponsors, volunteers/helpers or property owners responsible.

Triple Crown Rules
Triple Crown Event-Open – open to Open dogs and their handlers which compete in the three Jewels – Sheep Open Arena, Cattle Arena Trial, and Sheep Open Field. Prizes, Cash award to Champion and Reserve – Champion - $1000, Reserve $250 (donated by Hilltop Herefords) – to be awarded at Sheep Field Trial August 24th. Top two runs from sheep field trials will be added to make aggregate score to determine placings (in both open and nursery event categories) The double lift will be included in placings for those who qualify.
Triple Crown Event-Nursery Event – For non-open dogs – handlers may or may not be open handlers, dogs eligible to qualify are those in Nursery or pro-novice sheep field, and run in either ranch or open classes of Sheep Arena and ranch or open classes of Cattle Trial.
Deadline – August 15th.
Perpetual Trophy awarded.

Fees – if entered by May 15 - $20.00 per category, after May 25 - $25/category
Point system – All dogs competing in Triple Crown compete among each other. Point scale
– 0 points for DQ and RT, 1 point for completion of run plus 1 point for each Triple Crown Dog placed over. Ties first broken by 1.double lift score or if no competitors then 2. combined outrun/lift work of Open sheep runs (2 best runs). If tie still exists, then ties broken by fetch points of sheep field trial (2 best runs). If tie still exists, third best field run will be evaluated.
Triple Crown Nursery dogs – point accumulation as described above. Triple Crown Nursery* Dogs will only compete against all other Triple Crown Nursery Dog contestants. In the event that there are Triple Crown Nursery Dogs competing only in Open classes in the sheep arena and cattle events, the score will be compared to the other Triple Crown Nursery scores in the lower classes. The runs offered will be identical for Nursery, Ranch 2 and Open.
*Nursery dog means pronovice or nursery dogs.
