Judge Eligibility Rules
1. A judge may judge up to 2 state pageants and 4 local pageants in any given "pageant year." (July to July). If an individual judges a dual pageant in which (2) crowns are given, this will count as two local judged pageants.
2. Individuals, their company/business, spouse, domestic partner or significant other, who is anyway benefitting financially or otherwise, from working with contestants or the organization are barred from judging. This means that a pageant coach of any type, hairdresser, retailer, make-up artist, fitness trainer, wardrobe specialist, choreographer, or any other profession which works directly with contestants, may NOT judge.
3. Individuals who are related to contestants through blood relation or marriage are NOT eligible to judge.
4. State board members may NOT judge locals within the state they serve. Relatives of state/local board members may NOT judge the state/local pageant for which the relative serves as a board member.
5. Parents and other relatives of a contestant may NOT judge any pageant.
6. Former contestants and their family members, whether from a local, state, or national Miss America Pageant or a pageant similar in nature to the Miss America Pageant, and regardless if they won one of said pageants, may NOT judge until a minimum of three (3) years after they have stopped competing and may never judge any contestant with whom they have competed. MAOT contestants and their family members, are NOT allowed to judge in any level of the Miss America program until the criteria set forth above it met.
7. A judge may NOT judge the same pageant two consecutive years. This applies to both local and state pageants.
8. A judge must attend the judges seminar every year to remain on Arkansas Judges List. The judges bio form and fee of $15 must be paid yearly. You will be notified by email when and where judge's seminars will be held.
9. Local executive directors are required to attend the judges seminar every year to be eligible to judge and remain on judges list.
10. Judges will be selected from list of those who attend the yearly seminar.
