Jr. Gambler Hockey Association Board Meeting
July 19, 2006

Attendance: Mary Ann Christensen, Chris Verbeten, Cliff Watson, Kipp Karakas, Mike Buchan, Ann Guelig, Nick Glander, Marcus Phillips, Jim Guinn, Steve Letwin.
Absent: Heather Pepin
Meeting called to order at 6:40 pm by Chris Verbeten.
Motion made by Ann Guelig to approve June 22, 2006 meeting minutes. Seconded by Kipp Karakas. Motion passed.
Old Business
Mike B. expects to have 45-50 at tryouts.
Coaches meeting update from Kipp:
Bantam coach will be Bill La Belle pending board approval.
Ice costs for the year will increase. Cornerstone will be $165/hour. PMI will be $140/hour.
Ice cost comparison to the Petit is $208, Madison is $190, St. Louis is $225.
Summer program was discussed and should be distributed to all prospective players.
Scheduling window is now open for MAHL. MAHL schedule is due to be set by August 7th.
Coaches decided that once each teams budget is set, that each coach will deposit a check with Ann for the amount of the budgeted ice costs, referees and any administrative costs. Ann will then use that money on a monthly basis to pay the invoices.
Cornerstone rink update: Pledges in the amount of $1 Million have been received.
Ron Pulak will continue to do the ice scheduling.

Squirt – Chris Gruber
PeeWee Minor and Squirt – League tournament is first weekend in March.
Agenda for August 30th – Jr. Gambler Administration Night – 6:00-8:00pm
Collect membership fee of $150 per family.
Collect Registration fee – August 30th all players need to have $1000 non-refundable on the books with remainder to be paid by October 1st.
Dan from Embroid Me will be available to take apparel orders.
Sponsorship questions and deposits will be taken.
Fill out forms – IMR, Liability, Waiver, Health info, Team insurance form, Handbook & by-laws
Mary Ann will distribute a copy of the Tax Exempt certificate to each coach.
Chris and Mary Ann will work on a communication letter to the association regarding the Agenda for Jr. Gambler Administration Night on August 30th.
Chris and Mary Ann will also develop a Financial Aid Payment Plan form.
Midget team update: Tryouts will continue on 7/21 & 7/22. Cuts will be made to approximately 23 skaters for both Major & Minor levels. Final tryouts will start on 8/17, 8/18, & 8/19 with final posting of team on 8/19. Budgets and registration fees are in the process of being compiled. Jim Guinn will be the Housing Coordinator.
Motion made by Mary Ann Christensen to approve spending of $5,750 from the General Fund for Pee Wee Minor Jerseys ($1,800), Pee Wee Minor Individual equipment bags ($3,150) , and Level 4 certifications for Kipp Karakas, Mike Buchan, Jim Guinn and Nick Glander. Seconded by Marcus Phillips. Motionpassed.
Next Board Meeting will be August 15th @ 6:30 pm at Cornerstone.
