Dear John Fisher Parent/Guardian:

On behalf of the Fundraising Committee, we are writing to all John Fisher families to ask for your donation to support enrichments to the learning experience of our children. Please join us in making your contribution toward our goal of raising $50,000 this school year to enhance our children’s education.

We have a long and impressive history of families supporting our school and each year we see the impact of the funds raised the previous school year in our children’s classrooms and extra-curricular activities.

Thanks to the generosity of the many John Fisher families who donated and supported the many activities organized by the Fundraising, Fête and June Fair Committees the year before last, our children experienced many enhancements to their education last year. Here are some examples:

·  Support for the school’s STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) initiative;

·  24 Scientists in Schools sessions (two sessions per class);

·  A mental health initiative;

·  Funding for John Fisher sports teams to participate in tournaments and meets throughout the year;

·  Support for the music program, Band and Strings;

·  Various school technology needs;

·  Support for Carnaval, school spirit, and cultural enrichment activities;

·  Ecological awareness and school greening initiatives of the Green Committee; and

·  Funding towards the Grade 6 graduation celebration for the proud members of the Class of 2016!

None of this would have been possible without the support and generosity of John Fisher families.

The process will begin shortly to determine how the amounts we raised last year will be spent this school year. We look forward to reporting to you on an equally impressive list of programs and equipment your children will benefit from this school year.

In the meantime, please join us in making your personal donation in support of the additional equipment, extra-curricular activities, special events, sports, arts and cultural programs that help define the John Fisher experience. Your donation makes a statement about the importance you place on making your child’s educational experience – both inside and outside the classroom – the best it can possibly be.

With your help, we will achieve our goal of raising at least $50,000 this school year. We thank you in advance – on behalf of all of the students of John Fisher who will benefit from your generous support.
