Services for the Student Success Center Network
FOUNDATIONS FOR GUIDED PATHWAYS

Jobs for the Future (JFF) is partnering with the National Center for Inquiry & Improvement (NCII) to help Student Success Centers launch and build momentum for statewide guided pathways efforts. NCII provides expert consultation along the spectrum of inquiry through improvement for a variety of approaches and models for student success. This includes a wide breadth and depth of resources and customized services for the SSCs, such as:

  Level 1: Materials for SSCs such as research and presentations for education about foundations of guided pathways as well as content, templates, and tools for convenings, planning, and designing pathways.

  Level 2: Presentations, training, and leadership development for SSC staff and other stakeholders through in-person workshops and webinars on foundational topics such as: introduction to guided pathways, program mapping, designing meta-majors, financial sustainability, return-on-investment, stakeholder engagement, and advisory board development.

  Level 3: Direct, customized support to individual Student Success Centers by NCII. These services offered are detailed on page 2.

Level 1: Shared resources accessed individually, such as resources and tools available to all SSCs online.
Level 2: Shared services accessed collectively, such as convenings, trainings, and leadership development opportunities for all SSCs.
Level 3: Customized services accessed individually, available to select SSCs based on their stage of pathways implementation and their readiness for deeper support.

GROUP TRAINING AND CONSULTATIVE SESSIONS (SPRING 2017-SPRING 2018)

  JFF SSC Network Guided Pathways Strategy Meeting (May 11-12, 2017):
NCII will work with SSC teams designing foundational guided pathways activities and supporting colleges in the process of implementation.

  NCII Sessions at Other JFF Meetings:
EDs will receive additional training and leadership development through NCII’s participation in JFF’s semi-annual state policy meetings, SSC Network meetings, and other virtual and in-person meetings.

DETAILS ABOUT LEVEL 3:
CUSTOMIZED SUPPORT FOR INDIVIDUAL STUDENT SUCCESS CENTERS

CONSULTATION

NCII provides individual consulting and institute design to Student Success Center EDs. Schedule 30 to 60 minutes with Rob Johnstone to discuss strategy, content, design, and implementation efforts for SSCs.

STATE SITE VISITS

NCII will work with EDs to design and execute a customized in-state convening/institute in support of SSC state-wide guided pathways efforts. These state visits can serve multiple purposes, with NCII providing services such as:

  Presentation at a state convening or meeting

  Attendance at various board meetings

  Engagement and education with stakeholders such as faculty, staff, and others

  Facilitation of workshops

CONTENT DEVELOPMENT

NCII will partner with EDs to create a detailed approach to launching and executing a strategy for guided pathways. These services may include content and leadership development related to a variety of foundational topics about guided pathways, such as:

  Introduction to guided pathways

  Program mapping

  Designing meta-majors

  Financial sustainability

  Return-on-investment

  Advisory board development

  Stakeholder engagement

The Student Success Center Network is a national network of statewide Student Success Centers.
Jobs for the Future (JFF) manages the Network and provides support to Center staff.
