Job Description:

Develop and maintain a comprehensive social media strategy that defines how social media marketing techniques applied to increase visibility and traffic across all projects and services

Lead the development of organization-wide social media management standards, policies and rules of engagement for social media

Define key performance indicators and implement enterprise level measurement, analytics, and reporting methods to gauge success

Work with marketing department to explore and identify ways to integrate social media into business strategies and marketing campaigns

Apply marketing research and development methods to learn and understand emerging trends and technologies and to communicate this knowledge clearly and concisely

Aptitude to develop and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

A solid understanding of the ethical search engine optimisation techniques
Demonstrated experience and a passion for the social technology universe (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, blogs, wikis, RSS, social bookmarking, discussion forums and community software)

Experience with online monitoring and measurement platforms including but not limited to Omniture, Facebook Insights, YouTube Insights, Google Analytics, HootSuite, TweetDeck, and Social Mention.

Ability to work effectively under deadlines and juggle several assignments simultaneously

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Social Media Strategist has three areas of responsibility (specific duties of each is explained below)

Planning, Analysing and Evaluating:

Develop workable media, content and editorial plans and realistic timetables.

Collaborates with the Marketing Team in creation of marketing recommendations, strategies and actions for the organization

Review, analyse and evaluates the following, relative to the organizational needs and objectives: all assigned creative projects, internal agency projects and assigned new business projects.

Provide client platform / business updates on a regular basis to demonstrate upcoming opportunities and threats to the business

Defining project scope, estimate and writing scope of works and technical specifications, works with Online Marketing Manager in the creation of project specifications and time plans

Educates Social Media and Content Development team and manages their needs and expectations.

Determines project risk on an on-going basis, escalates issues as needed.

Experience in leading complex multidisciplinary projects

Employ a variety of research techniques to understand and analyse online data and provide insight about relevant online conversations and voices in those conversations

Monitors out of scope requests, initiates additional estimates and approvals.

Team Leading, Coordinating, Managing

Provides leadership within the organization and monitors work scope against all variables.

Monitors all strategic activity on assigned projects and communicates status of each project to appropriate agency and organizational personnel in order to meet project deadlines.

Act as the team leader on all assigned projects.

Maintains communications with appropriate agency and organizational personnel to ensure positive workflow

Escalating exceptions and issues to Director level (only if required)

Presenting content and social media strategy deliverables to higher management

Monitoring and enforcing project constraints (schedule / scope / resources)

Champion internal systems for higher productivity working

Administrative

Work with internal and external managers to identify goals and metrics and integrate those metrics into the content development process.

Build, track and monitor assigned strategic projects.

Monitor and analyse online media and other relevant digital communications channels.

Work closely with content development and marketing team on the development of social media programs and strategies

Prepare reports summarizing the results of social media campaigns

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Interest in and aptitude for developing social media and content strategy solutions

Possesses understanding of Social advertising campaign management and optimization practices across the biggies, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram

Monitors the latest trends in social media, including advertising, channels and technologies in order to improve campaign performance and provide recommendations on how clients can best leverage newtools and services

Compile data across several social media platforms and create bi-weekly/monthly reports, including analysis for insights, optimizations and future strategy development

Demonstrates strategic insight to develop long term execution plans from organizations stated business objectives and implement those plans

Displays organizational capabilities to track progress, execution and consistency of social advertising campaigns

Demonstrates understanding of and ability to facilitate and manage forecasting and pacing, campaign creation and optimization

Displays understanding of business concepts and organization objectives in order to identify campaign expansion opportunities

Possesses well-developed analytical ability to extract insight from data and plan next steps across multiple marketing mediums

Ability to self-manage while managing assigned teams and projects under tight deadlines.
