Sacro's four year 'FearLess - Survivors of Domestic Abuse' service seeks to provide support for those affected by domestic abuse to enable them to live in a home of their choice. The service willoperate as a partnership with key organisations who provide support for underrepresented minoritiesincluding BME, LGBT and non-traditional survivors of domestic abuse.

Overall Purpose of Role

To successfully lead and deliver the FearLess Service across Scotland. The Service Manager will manage the programme of activity amongst the partner organisations to:

  • Deliver a sustainable service that will overcome social and cultural barriers.
  • Provide standards for consistent, coordinated and improved services to survivors of domestic abuse to meet the distinct needs of those affected in Scotland.
  • Support the delivery of a range of existing services provided by other agencies to meet the specific needs of the service users.
  • Fill gaps in service and deliver transformational change leading to better outcomes for survivors of domestic abuse.
  • Develop the research base and provide the foundation for future sustainability and learning.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the establishment of the FearLess service, ensuring that all delivery partners achieve their outcomes and expenditure targets and ensure that all developmental milestones are met.
  • Coordinate the staged implementation of the FearLess service, working with partners and other key stakeholders and the FearLess Steering Group.
  • Devise a Service Implementation Plan
  • Responsible for ensuring the different elements of the implementation process are delivered on-time, in accordance with the Service Plan, and that the operational and outcome requirements of the services funders are met.
  • Facilitate the establishment and management of the FearLess partnership network.
  • Develop and implement a robust monitoring and evaluation plan, with an evidence based collection and outcome tracking process that measures change as a result of the service.
  • Supervise and manage the FearLess Service Administrator and support staff
  • Facilitate communication and the exchange of information within the partnership network through the delivery of a robust marketing and communications plan – in conjunction with the funders.
  • Prepare and provide regular written reports to the funder and others on the development and performance of the service and that of the partner agencies.
  • Assist in all activities relating to the creation of a sustainable service beyond the initial funding period.
  • To undertake any other task, that may be reasonably be requested by the Director of Operations
  • Give presentations to a number of different stakeholders in a variety of settings including seminars and conferences.

Skills and Experience

  • Educated to at least Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) Level 8 or above (Higher/SVQ Level 4 or above). Hold a Care and Management qualification (SVQ level 4), recognised by the Scottish Social Services Council, SCQF level 8 or above, or will work towards these within agreed timescales, or equivalent
  • Demonstrable team leadership, people management and teamwork skills
  • Experienced in managing a service and working in a partnership context is essential
  • Skilled in project management approaches, including the ability to work in complex settings with a number of outcomes, stakeholders and funders
  • Experienced in the sensitivities involved in working across cultures and equivalent experience with vulnerable groups
  • Experienced in developing and implementing marketing and communication strategies/plans
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills with the presence and drive to manage successful partnership relationships
  • Experienced and confident in effective public speaking
  • Knowledge of a range of IT systems including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and bespoke project management applications
  • Good negotiation skills and ability to think creatively and problem solve effectively

Other requirements

  • Some evening and weekend work will be required along with participating in a National On-Call out of hour’s rota.
  • Able to travel throughout Scotland as required. Residency out with Scotland’s Central Belt will involve more frequent travel and longer journeys.
  • Clean driving licence and access to a car

Outline of main terms and conditions of service:

  • Salary:SCP 35-38 (currently: £30,146-£32,723 per annum)
  • Leave entitlement:31 days annual leave; 6 fixed public days
  • Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week. Some evening and weekend work will be required along with participating in a National On-Call out of hour’s rota
  • Condition: This post is subject to a satisfactory PVG membership
  • Travel: There will be a requirement for travel throughout Scotland in this role
  • Pension: Sacro employees are automatically entered into the Sacro Group Personal Pension Scheme
  • Work Base: Edinburgh, or at any other location as required by Sacro
  • Notice: 8 weeks on either side, in writing
