Job Title: Regional Sales Manager*

SUMMARY

Establishes new customers and maintains existing customer accounts by using sales leads and cold call contacts to increase Adams market share in the elevator industry. Responsible for expanding sales within the assigned region and assisting in national sales as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. The Company reserves the right to add to, delete, change or modify the essential duties and responsibilities at any time. All work is to be completed with minimum supervision and in accordance with Company standards. Other duties may be assigned.

Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.

Travels throughout assigned region to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, or talks with customers by phone.

Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.

Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.

Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.

Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.

Works with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.

Tracks stock levels.

Coordinates customer training.

Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.

Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.

Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.

Attends trade shows.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and 2 to 5 years related sales experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE ABILITY

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATH ABILITY

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Microsoft Word, Excel, SAP, Lotus Notes e-mail

Travel Requirement

80% of work time will involve travel within the sales region with occasional travel outside the region to attend trade shows and meetings. Position would cover the following states: Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, Missouri, Kentucky, Iowa, South Dakota and North Dakota.
