Job Analysis
This job analysis is representative of the position. Section I
Job Summary:
Under supervision, keep an assigned building area clean, sanitary, safe and orderly; perform special cleaning periodically or as required; may do some outdoor cleaning; and do job related duties as required.
Essential Functions / Tasks:
- Sweep, mop, scrub and wax floor, including surfaces of many types.
- Dust, wax, wash and polish furniture and woodwork.
- Clean wall and blackboards/whiteboards.
- Clean restrooms, locker rooms and showers.
- Wash windows.
- Arrange furniture and equipment for special activities.
- Inspect buildings and grounds for broken equipment or vandalism and report the need for repairs.
- Empty trash and garbage cans.
- May sweep concrete surfaces immediately adjacent to the school buildings.
- May do minor maintenance tasks to keep assigned area safe and operating.
- Participate in thorough cleaning of school plant and facilities during summer vacation and other periods, including some minor painting and simple maintenance duties.
- Locks and/or secures windows and doors.
- During summer vacation period, may be assigned to intensive cleaning work, including washing walls, moving furniture, stripping and resurfacing gym floors, and similar duties, wherever needed.

Qualifications: Read, write and communicate in the English language.
