Job Purpose:

In a growing team, we are recruiting a Data Manager to own, enhance and drive a companywide strategy across data including migration to a new CRM, data cleansing and ongoing governance of Tungsten’s internal data, best practice and reporting alongside our analytics team.

This Data Manager role is business facing, based in our London head office.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Sitting within the product department the Data and Analytics team has a customer, partner and internal audience across the globe.

This role is focused on improving the standard of data flowing across the Tungsten Network to help stakeholders understand our customers, maximise margin and operational performance.

  • Build a global product vision and roadmap for the areas, and executing against it in accordance with the company’s strategic business objectives
  • To be accountable for the design of strategic and innovative data and BI architectures that will underpin and enable a fast-moving global organisation
  • Understanding new technologies and potential partners for tools, analysis, data sets or services.
  • To be accountable for establishing processes, standards, governance and forming technology and functional roadmaps
  • Lead and drives complex product projects through ownership of the strategic project portfolio
  • To evangelise new technologies – emerging and disruptive and new methods of data and BI architecture design and integration
  • Engaging with Tungsten partners to design and deliver combined solutions that bring maximum value with minimum effort, using the strengths of each organisation
  • Working in SCRUM / Agile development environment, tracking development requests in JIRA
  • Championing automation and self service
  • Change management – communication plans, roll out plans, training materials and sessions, demos
  • Create and maintain statistically robust models to facilitate the customers insights, for example in the areas of customer acquisition, retention and cross-sell

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Strong data expertise, within in a listed company, in some of the following category areas; partnerships, data, analytics, data science, statistics, machine learning, Artificial intelligence, data anonymization, data sales
  • Proven track record of leading large complex product programs across multiple geographies
  • Data standards and governance
  • Strong, respected voice in data and BI innovation and changes in technology
  • Strong business acumen, with experience of managing stakeholders and influencing strategy by partnering and educating
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate and present complex information concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills, prepared to challenge conventional thinking
  • Review current reporting tools (alongside the analytics team) and help define the data models and solutions forthe implementation of a data warehouse, dashboard and reporting solution
  • Ability to apply context and judgement to findings

Education:

  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • Oral and written fluency in English
  • Strong technical, influencing and presenting skills
  • Ability to make complex ideas simple and accessible

Systems Knowledge:

  • Technical Skills – data migration, data architecture, project management, Agile working, prioritisation across multiple projects
  • Bridging multiple toolsets to provide a unique view of our Customer’s journeys across Web, Mobile and Managed Sales
  • Experience in building ad hoc ETL processes
  • Experience in ad hoc statistical modelling and tools
  • Advanced SQL query knowledge
  • Advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros and statistical functions)
  • Practical experience in data tools such as SQL, ETL (Lavastorm) and data visualisation (Qlik)
  • Knowledge of Salesforce data model would be an advantage
