Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic, Tier Four

Job Summary: Responsible for adjusting, servicing, maintaining, setup, and installation of plant/facility machinery and equipment. Inspects equipment for proper functioning and performs preventive maintenance duties per specifications. Diagnoses equipment malfunctions and makes repairs or adjustments as needed.

Essential Functions:

1. Responds promptly to calls for maintenance assistance from Production personnel.

2. Responds to Service Requests and effectively completes and documents Work Orders in the CMMS system as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor/Planner.

3. Analyzes mechanical or operational problems and takes corrective actions.

4. Performs preventive maintenance during course of shift as specified in the PM program and takes appropriate corrective action.

5. Advises Supervisor/Planner of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action required.

6. Selects and procures basic maintenance items including spare parts, consumables, and service technicians.

7. Works with and assists outside contractors as assigned.

8. Performs general housekeeping and complies with Safety and GMP audit standards.

9. Displays a positive attitude towards all levels of employees, customers, and contractors.

10. Effectively communicates verbally and/or written (email), and instructs operations personnel in simple maintenance questions and tasks.

11. Actively leads by quality work habits, machine enhancements, and proactive participation in PM and Setup procedures.

12. Works independently under limited supervision (self-management).

Additional Responsibilities: May require off-shift, weekend and/or holiday work. Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Must read and write English. Must possess knowledge of electricity, plumbing, and building utilities. Must be proficient using shop tools (drill press, mill, band saw) and power hand tools. Thorough knowledge of packaging equipment, including troubleshooting repair and preventative maintenance required. Basic knowledge of welding, pneumatics and hydraulics required. Must have own hand tools. Must complete all requirements of the Mechanic, Tier Three position.

Quality:

Must possess, demonstrate and follow all instructions, procedures and guidelines set forth in all applicable Wixon/ISO/department policies to assure continued quality product is produced.

Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to handle items in excess of 50 lbs in a safe and efficient manner. Must be able to climb and perform tasks from ladders, scaffolds and man lifts. This position also requires walking, kneeling, crouching and working in tight spaces.

Working Conditions: Exposure to hazards of an industrial environment including noise, dust, hazardous materials, machinery, including platforms and ladders, and lift equipment.
