Salary:£17,039 - £20,198 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance

Purpose of the New Role:

The purpose of this role is to support the test and release ofa suite of learning systems in use at The University of Nottingham. The remit of the role holder is toexecute test plans and accurately document issues identified to support the development of learning applications that meet the strategic needs of the University.

The post holder will work closely with and interface between the Learning Systems and Faculty and School Support teams within the LRLR Learning Technology Section.

1 / Testing Responsibilities
  • Carry out agreed set of test cases, in line with the test plan and development project schedule, clearly and accurately reporting test results and progress.
  • Authoring of test cases in the form of written instructions, ensuring those instructions are clear and accurate, seeking technical advice where needed, and updating existing test cases where required.
  • Reporting, assignment, analysis and resolution tracking of software and non-software bugs in a central bug management database.
  • Retesting bugs when they are re-submitted into the test environment and provide sign-off or remedial action recommendations on behalf of QA.
  • Ensure end user requirements are met through the execution of UAT activities

To contribute to the development of Learning Technologies activity, projects, communication and engagement:
  • Support the team by contributing to the establishment and implementation of effective practice and procedures for software testing and quality assurance.
  • To actively participate in the Learning Technology Section team in order to facilitate communication within the Section
  • To support (through test and release of software applications) LRLR projects to enhance the service

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Essential / Desirable
Qualifications/ Education / Educated to at least GCSE level including Maths and English at grade C or above, (or equivalent)
