Job title: HR Data Analyst (12-18mths FTC)

Role purpose

Reporting into the HR Systems & Data Manager the HR Data Analyst will act as a key member of the HR team, acting as a subject matter expert, liaising with HR, IT and Project teams to ensure the successful use of HR data to improve HR MI reporting to Executive Board and Council. The role will be responsible for providing accurate and timely HR information, data and analysis to the HR function and the NMC. The development of this function will be to ensure that the NMC are a dynamic intelligence led regulator and meet our strategic objectives.

The HR Data Analyst is responsible for day to day HR Management Information reporting coordinating the production, analysis and development of management reports and dashboards and supports the HR Systems & Data Manager in the development of the service. The role will be integral in providing insight, recommendations and areas for focus of time and effort to deliver greater results in the performance management of our team members.

Key accountabilities

·  Acting as a key point of contact for the resolution of insight related queries.

·  Creating insightful, engaging and accurate data analysis that supports the People leadership teams in identifying key business challenges.

·  Responding within service levels to ad-hoc data and analytical requests. Take the lead in the coordination of the production, analysis and development of standard and ad hoc reports and dashboards

·  Providing topical, timely, automated and accurate analysis, key value drivers and recommendations highlighting and formulating trend analyses and related business-specific insight.

·  Communicate recommendations and analyses insight to customers, using appropriate style, language and methodologies.

·  Undertake analysis of people related data from multiple sources including the HR database and Applicant Tracking system

·  Respond to requests from internal and external customers in the provision of data, considering appropriate sharing of data in line with data protection legislation

·  Assist in the improvement of the quality of current HR data to ensure continued accuracy. Create, maintain and ensure quality assurance of key human resources data sets, reports, and metrics.

·  Working with the HR Systems and Data Manager to develop the systems and data to become a provider of intelligent and predictive analysis

·  Develop predictive modelling tool using insight to drive improvements in the business.

·  Carry out periodic audits to ensure that all position data in relation to employees is accurate and up to date

·  As directed by the HR Systems and Data Manager liaise with colleagues in Finance and other functions as appropriate to ensure HR data is consistent with any other data

·  Support the HR Systems & Data Manager in troubleshooting system issues through to resolution

·  Deputise on an occasional basis for the HR Systems and Data Manager

Job title: HR Data Analyst

Qualifications and experience

·  Educated to degree level or equivalent experience

·  Proven experience of HR systems, databases and reporting tools, ideally OpenHR

·  Strong experience of HR data capture and analysis

·  Experience of developing management information reports and dashboards

·  Proven experience in understanding people data analysis and reporting, including predictive analytics

·  Experience of PowerBi or similar reporting tools would be desirable

Knowledge, skills and abilities

·  Excellent Excel skills to Advanced level including pivot tables, vlookups and sumifs

·  Knowledge of HR metrics, key performance indicators and benchmarking

·  Ability to summarise data and metrics, highlighting trends or issues

·  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

·  Highly numerate and excellent report writing skills

·  Ability to plan, organise and manage priorities and workloads to deadlines

·  Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

·  A customer focused approach

·  Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build good working relationships at all levels across the organisation and externally

·  Ability to forward think and identify ways to drive efficiencies in the production and delivery of HR information and other regular tasks
