Job Purpose:

  • To be responsible for the efficient and effective management of examinations at all key stages including key stage tests, from entry, delivery and including analysis of examinations data.

Responsibilities:

  1. Examinations
  • To be responsible for organising, scheduling, administering, managing and monitoring internal and external examinations to ensure they are carried out in line with examination board policies including End of Key Stage Tests and computerised Cognitive Ability Tests.
  • To be responsible for meeting the needs of students with identified additional need for support.
  • To act as the key contact for examination queries from teachers, students and parents and to liaise with examination boards to ensure smooth and timely communication with school.
  • To co-ordinate and administer the examination rooms to ensure they are a suitable environment and contain the specific equipment/correct ratio of invigilators required under examination board policy for every examination to be undertaken.
  • To take the lead in the recruitment, selection and training of examination invigilators ensuring they are competent to carry out their role under examination board policies.
  • To manage student entries and results.
  • To receive and store examination papers in the secure area to maintain confidentiality and to check, package and post/despatch completed examination papers and course work in accordance with examination board policies.
  • To prepare timetables for students, invigilators and teachers ensuring that timetable clashes are dealt with appropriately and suitable arrangements are made for students with special circumstances.
  • To work with the Senior Leadership Team representative, SENDCO and Curriculum Leaders as appropriate to ensure that the examination system in the school operates effectively.
  • To collate and disseminate examination results to students and assist in the coordination of Examination remarks and queries.
  • To work with the Senior Leadership Team representative to analyse results and publish data.

  • Participate in the performance management arrangements and contribute to the professional development of other colleagues.
  • Undertake any reasonable request from the Principal.
  • To take responsibility for Health and Safety in own area of work.
