JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Endometriosis UK Fundraising and Information Intern
(unpaid with travel expenses)
Purpose of job:
To provide administrative support to ensure the efficient day to day running of the charity’s fundraising and information departments.
The role involves fulfilling general administrative duties as well as helping with the planning and execution of fundraising events, maintaining the fundraising database and communicating with our supporters. The information department aspect of the role would involve maintaining and updating our Facebook page and group, proof-reading, and research for our quarterly membership magazine.
Fundraising
- Respond appropriately to enquires from our supporters both written and orally
- Assist in promoting and administering fundraising events
- To assist sourcing, writing and editing fundraising materials/individual stories, including copy for our website and newsletter.
- To assist in managing collecting tin procedures
- Assist with maintaining the fundraising database ensuring information recorded is accurate and consistent
- To undertake telephone, internet and desk-based research on sources of funding from charitable trusts and corporate supporters and on new fundraising events.
- Maintaining up-to-date filing systems, both manual and electronic as appropriate
Membership
- To undertake essential administrative support to the membership function
- To analyse membership statistics and questionnaires
Information
- Maintaining and updating Facebook page and group
- Proof-reading for our information service, website, e-newsletter and quarterly membership magazine
- To assist researching articles for the membership magazine
Administrative
- Answering the telephone and responding to queries/taking messages
- Assist with maintaining the charity database ensuring information recorded is accurate and consistent
- Maintaining up-to-date filing systems, both manual and electronic as appropriate
General
- To undertake any other duties commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the post
