Job Title: Division Operations Director - Specialty Care Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Job Summary: The Division Operations Director is responsible for overseeing the planning, budgeting, developing, coordinating, and evaluating all clinical operational aspects of the provider practices within Benefis Medical Group (BMG), and is a member of the BMG Administrative Team. This includes primary care, specialty care, outreach services, MSO services, hospital-based services, and other areas as assigned.

Areas of Responsibility: Benefis Medical Group-Staffing & Medical Records, Med Spa and Plastic Surgery, Primary Care and Walk-in Clinic

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of efficient and integrated practice operations throughout BMG’s clinical practices.
Clinical point of contact for all BMG providers and staff.
Oversees clinical managers, supervisors, coordinators and staff within all assigned clinical practices.
Participates in designing, improving, implementing and monitoring the systems used to deliver healthcare services, including nursing activity, ancillary support services, front office, supplies/equipment, facilities, medical records, outreach, and special projects as they relate to improved performance.
Oversees the human resource functions for BMG clinical practices, and independent physicians and organizations receiving management services from BMG via MSO agreements as assigned.
Assists in providing physician outreach services to communities in the region, including the assessment of community needs and planning and staffing to meet those needs.
Maintains close working relationships and open communication with the BMG Administrative Team, the BMG Board of Directors, hospital Administration, hospital Management, medical staff, and other programs and services that interface with BMG divisions.
Represents BMG in the community in a variety of settings.
Performs management activities including interviewing, hiring, evaluating, termination and departmental staffing scheduling.
Maintains records pertinent to personnel and operation of the unit. Prepares reports, i.e., utilization, performance improvement, outcome data.
Participates in patient care conference.
Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations.
Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people, deal with stressful situations, and handle conflict.

Education/Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or healthcare related field, or equivalent experience required.

Master’s Degree in healthcare related or business field, or equivalent experience required.

Five to seven years experience in healthcare management required. Clinical service development experience preferred.

Equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge and ability essential to perform successfully the duties assigned to this position preferred.

Language Skills:

Able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.

Other Skills:

Basic computer knowledge, data entry and/or word processing.
