Job Title:Corporate Partnerships Manager

Reporting to:Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager

Department:Fundraising

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To manage and develop national and international corporate partnerships that secure income, gifts in kind or expertise which enable Leonard Cheshire Disability to maintain and extend its support todisabled people.

To ensure relationships are expertly managed in order to demonstrate an effective rate of return for corporate investment and maximise the chances of retaining partners in the longer term.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To manage existing partnerships with national and multi-national companies who have agreed to support Leonard Cheshire Disability on specific projects or programmes based either in the UK or internationally. Typically these will exceed £50,000 a year and may include high-profile partnerships worth in excess of £1 million.
  • To deliver excellent day-to-day account management services to existing and developmental corporate partnershipsincluding: putting in regular calls and face-to-face meetings; answering incoming requests; ensuring project reports are compiled accurately and on time and generally ensuring that we offer excellent ‘value for money’.
  • To manage corporate development projects such as maximising support from current corporate volunteers and suppliers: working closely with internal colleagues.
  • Tailor project reports from respective delivery departments so that they provide corporate partners with information that is relevant to their organisation. These reports will need to be of excellent quality and in line with sector recognised measurement criteria.
  • To seek out development opportunities for existing partnerships, and ensure all opportunities for the growth of current partnerships are maximised including further income donations, gift in kind support or the sharing of knowledge and skills.
  • To contribute to the Corporate Team’s involvement in key LCD cultivation events that may aim to attract new partners, or to thank existingones, working closely with fundraising colleagues.
  • To provide support for new partnership and Charity of the Year pitches and to support the securing of sponsorship for Leonard Cheshire Disability events when required.
  • To take responsibility for inputting information regarding relationship management and pledge information into the Raiser’s Edge database to further the Charity’s collective management of business intelligence.
  • To support the activities of the wider fundraising department as and when required.

General duties

  • To keep abreast of the latest techniques for corporate fundraising by tracking what other charities are undertaking.
  • Expenditure within agreed budgetary limits.
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Qualifications

  • To be educated to degree level.

Essential Other

  • To have experience in account management and new business with high-profile, high-value accounts (typically a FTSE 250 company with a relationship worth in excess of £200,000).
  • To have proven experience in managing and developing corporate partnerships on behalf of a charity.
  • To be willing to travel and stay away overnight.
  • To have a genuine commitment to the values and ethos of Leonard Cheshire Disability.

  • To have a sound working knowledge of corporate fundraising techniques including strategic multi-year partnerships, COTY, sponsorship, donations, employee fundraising, cause-related marketing and special projects.
