Job Purpose

To provide input into revising our reward strategy project as well as work with the wider HR team to produce documents (guidelines, policies) in a final report to be submitted to our Board of Trustees in order to ensure our reward strategy is aligned with our organisation’s strategy.

Dimensions

  1. Responsible for project managing the charity’s reward strategy.
  2. Work with the wider HR and payroll team to produce relevant documents (guidelines and policies).

Main accountabilities of the post

  1. Lead on organisation wide Compensation analysis, requirements and reporting.
  2. Support regulatory reporting (annual reports, gender pay gap).
  3. Produce documents (guidance, policies) on competitive compensation benchmarking, providing recommendations for a revised reward strategy, salary adjustments, new hire offers.
  4. Oversee competitive benchmarking and analysis submission process and surveys.
  5. Assessment of existing benefit programmes to assure competitiveness in the marketplace and identification of cost efficient plan design opportunities.
  6. Review current ‘spot salaries’ system with a view to recommending alternative systems that link reward with performance for high-performers and to pay all staff fairly.
  7. Support development and delivery of communication tools and materials to enhance employee understanding of the company's rewards package including conducting employee information presentations.
  8. Plan, oversee and coordinate the annual performance, objective setting and compensation cycles.
  9. Manage relationships with both internal and external customers, and third party organisations and advisors to ensure project delivery is on time and of good quality.
  10. Oversee core HR data in the HR database (HR Evolution) as it pertains to Compensation activities.

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Practice and comply with all Charity policies.
  2. Undertake any reasonable tasks from time to time at the line manager’s request, as may be deemed appropriate within the scope of the post
  3. Carry out duties, when required, associated with disciplinary and grievance procedures including undertaking investigations and attending related hearings.

Work Context

  1. The role is primarily office based with a requirement for occasional travel to Blind Veterans UK other main operating locations and to external sites when necessary.

The role is primarily self-directed with a high level of autonomy regarding reward strategy..

  • It is feasible that the post holder will communicate with all members of staff at all levels across the organisation in the course of their duties, regarding a variety of subjects, in order to deliver the reward strategy.

  • Benchmarked organisations.
