Job purpose
To support the Communications Department in the areas of Public Relations, Marketing Communications and Internal Communications with a specific focus on the Club’s charitable activities.
To respond to charitable requests in line with the Club’s charitable giving policy in addition to assisting in the co-ordination and delivery of wish granting visits throughout the season.

Responsibilities:
- Respond to, sort and file all requests (by mail and online) for signed merchandise using the Sales Force system
- Support the facilitation of filming and media requests within the areas of PR and MarComms.
- Support the Communications Department in creating concepts for content across in house and external print, digital and broadcast media.
- Support the Communications Department in identifying opportunities for potential initiatives to enhance the reputation of Manchester City and present such initiatives for approval.
- Proactively seek and create good news stories to share through Club channels both internally and externally.
- Conduct media monitoring and generate coverage reports following Club announcements and events.
- Assist in implementing communications campaigns and events.
- Undertake research projects as and when required supporting the communications activity of various departments.
Other:
- Administer and maintain stock of all charity signed merchandise and provide accurate monthly reports
General responsibilities:

- To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably expected

Scope of job
The Communications Intern will not be in charge of a budget or supervise any staff members.
There will be a number of key projects and initiatives across the Communications department that you will be involved in.

Person Specification

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent administrative, organisational and written and verbal communications skills.

Highly organised with ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines; excellent communication skills both written and verbal; highly resilient and independent, able to operate effectively with minimum supervision; flexible and willing to pitch in; warm and enthusiastic, able to build productive working relationships with people at all levels and from all backgrounds.
Candidates will need to demonstrate the ability to work individually and as part of a team.

Interest in a career in Public Relations, passion for good causes and making a difference to the community.
Experience: proven record of experience in a particular field, profession or specialism. Any period of work required must be appropriate and not excessive.
Desirable
Experience of liaising with local and national media.
Some experience of generating media coverage.
Qualifications: the level of educational, professional and/or occupational training required

Educated to degree level.
