Job Title: Client Co-ordinator for TYA Supporters (Teenage and Young Adults).

Main purpose of job: Engagement with Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) Lead nurses,

clinical teams and families of Teenagers and Young adults

affected by cancerin hospitals, communities, and with other

charities across the UK.

To promote Living Well courses to TYA supporters, TCT clinical

teams, and other stakeholders and actively recruit families and

supporters of TYA affected by cancer to Living Well courses

across the regions, ensuring capacity is met.

To arrange delivery of Living Well courses for TYA supporters across the UK, including arranging venues, facilitators and recruitment of clients to courses to maximise capacity. During residential courses to be the client night support worker

Reporting to: National Service Manager

Relationships: Develop excellent relationships with clients, Lead TYA nurses

and clinical teams, stakeholders and service providers.

Develop and maintain excellent relationships with Penny Brohn

staff at the National Centre and across the regions.

Main duties:

Engagement with TYA families and supporters affected by cancer and Health Care Professionals

  1. To engage with TCT Lead nurses and clinical teams working with TYA affected by cancer and their families and supporters,in hospitals, community outreach and at the national centre and to refer clients where appropriate to services at Penny Brohn UK which will help them to live well with the impact of cancer.
  1. To promote and recruit clients to the Living Well course for TYA supporters across the regions, working with the Lead TCT nurses and teams to identify families and supporters in order to raise awareness of Penny Brohn UK services and support in order to maximise client recruitment to Living Well courses.
  2. To host the Living Well TYA courses as the client supporter on residential course, in outreach locations and at the National Centre.
  3. To maintain a regular presence at hospitals across the regions to ensure the recruitment of clients to LW courses for TYA supporters, and to keep TCT nursing teams updated on course recruitment and to involve and encourage recruitment.
  4. Liaise with other service providers, community groups, local authorities and local businesses, to increase awareness and referrals to services.
  5. Deliver information on Living Well courses for TYA supportersin the form of talks, presentations, and host exhibition stands at events, in locations across the region as required.
  6. Attend regular team meetings, CPD and training sessions
  7. Manage flexible working arrangements which may include weekend or evening work.
  8. To monitor and evaluate all community based services and activities and to report on the numbers of clients attending, on a regular basis.
  9. To work with R&E to report on the LW TYA supporters course and to be involved in providing information for reports to funders as requested by the fundraising team.

Skills and Experience

  1. Experience of working with people from a range of backgrounds
  2. Experience of working with clients with cancer or long term health conditions
  3. Experience of developing community based groups or projects
  4. Experience of developing relationships and partnerships with stakeholders
  5. Adaptability to the needs of clients and services
  6. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  7. Hold a full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel as required
