  • Purpose of the job
  • To develop and implement outreach and community based methods of delivery of support services to victims of anti-social behaviour ensuring that the highest standard of service is provided
  • To identify and liaise with suitable partner agencies and voluntary groups, increasing the role of the service in the community
  • To assist the Bradford ASB Team, West Yorkshire Police and Victim Support to develop and evaluate the project in accordance with Victim Support policies and the requirements of the Service Level Agreement with Bradford Community Safety Partnership
  • Main duties
  • The post holder will be located in the Bradford District Neighbourhood Hub along with members of the Bradford Anti-Social Behaviour Team, Restorative JusticeTeam and the Neighbourhood Team Hub
  • Overall supervision of the post holder will be undertaken by the Victim Support Senior Service Delivery Manager with day to day supervision by a member of Bradford Community Safety Partnership
  • Develop and maintain a robust knowledge of local areas and communities in the relevant area, including local voluntary groups and statutory agencies and their services
  • Develop and implement community based ASB Victim Support Service to targeted and vulnerable communitiesand individuals
  • Work with colleagues in Victim Support to ensure effective liaison and provision of a seamless service to victims and witnesses
  • Organise and give presentations to groups to promote the project and attend meeting and forums as and when required
  • Undertake direct work with service users in their homes or at outreach venues as appropriate
  • Follow up work on behalf of service users, make contact with other statutory and voluntary agencies and obtain expert and specialist advice where necessary
  • Record all client activity on Victim Support’s case management system
  • Provide statistical information as required by the Funders, within defined timescales
  • Attend relevant Tasking Meetings
  • Attend Anti-Social Behaviour Panels to represent victims as appropriate
  • Provide specialist training to partner agencies
  • Kept abreast of developments in Legislation and best practice relevant to

anti-social behaviour

  • Travel
  • The role requires extensive travel around the District to visit victims of anti-social behaviour or attend meetings and conferences
  • Unsocial Hours
  • There will be anoccasional requirement to work unsocial hours

Over 6 months experience in either a voluntary or employed capacity

  1. Knowledge and Experience
  • Delivering a service and working directly with clients or service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting (s)
  • Experience of voluntary and statutory agencies including relevant professional rolesin the ASB, criminal justice, health and social care sectors (s)
  • Understanding and knowledge of the requirement for confidentiality and safe working practice and maintenance of files in accordance with the Data Protection Act and other legal requirements (s)
  • Understanding and knowledge of an active commitment to promoting equal opportunities and diversity (s)
  • Working independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system and the impact of crimeon victims and witnesses(s)
  • Knowledge of anti-social behaviour issues
  • Knowledge of issues facing the voluntary sector, volunteers and Workers
  • Experience of safeguarding issues and legislation
  • Providing support and guidance to a team with a strong client service focus.
  • Experience of securing funding for specific projects
