Job Title: Administrator (p/t, 3 days per week or 5 half days per week)
Duration: 12 month contract with possible extension subject to funding.
Location of Job:Media for Development, Old Street, London EC2A
Salary: £18,000 (pro-rata)

Media for Development (MFD) is a not-for-profit organisation that uses different media to reach, engage, and empower isolated communities in the United Kingdom and internationally. We have worked with a wide cross-section of partner agencies and clients in the United Kingdom and in more than 30 different countries around the world.
When the organisation was founded its focus was working solely through the medium of radio, collaborating with broadcasters in East and Southern Africa on educational programmes. Since then the organisation has grown considerably, now employing 15 staff, and a wide network of freelancers and consultants.
MFD believes that the media can be used as an effective and powerful tool for reaching, engaging, and empowering communities isolated by geography, poverty, conflict, or illiteracy. We are a flexible and highly entrepreneurial organisation, constantly seeking out solutions to the many different communication challenges that individuals and communities
Overall purpose of the job:
To provide administrative support in a busy office environment
The main responsibilities of the role will be to:
- Act as the point of contact for all enquiries to MFD and deal with enquiries appropriately
- Make updates to the MFD wesbite
- Research and circulate opportunities, organisations and news relevant to MFD
- Support staff with ad-hoc admin tasks as required.
- Order and keep stock of all office stationery supplies.
- Update MFD policies and staff handbook in line with all relevant legislation
- Maintain and update MFD’s Contact Database, run reports and manage data as requested by all staff.

Person Specification
Experience/skills:
- You will be a graduate or you will have at least 1 years experience in an administrative role working in an office environment.
- You will have excellent interpersonal skills and can communicate effectively with people at all levels
- You will have strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- You will have strong IT skills and Microsoft Office Skills
- You are able to work well within a team or independently, and under pressure
