Job Title: Accountant

Job Summary: Ensures continuity, accuracy and timeliness of all assigned accounting projects; while facilitatingbilling, financial reporting, and maintaining agency accounting records for social services agency, adheringto Full Life Care policies and practices as well as abiding by all business/employment related State and Federal legal stipulations;continuously seeking system efficiency by communicating with both management and employee staff. In addition to program service support, Accountant will also support program billing and tracking systems. This will require focused communication with Health Home and Roads to Community Living (RCL) Program Directors and other program management staff. The Accountant will have an integral role in the Health Home and RCL Programs ongoing functions and assuring service quality and integrity.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS of the job:

  1. Ability to provide budget vs. actual analysis, use analytical skills to identify issues and resolve problems.
  2. Assess data driven reports and perform reasonability tests. Follow up with outside parties to resolve discrepancies.
  3. Routinely post journal entries and provide necessary support for review.
  4. Manage grant and contract billing process. Work with staff to ensure billing schedules are complete and accurate.
  5. Communicate in responsive manner with program management staff and care coordinators, take initiative with information gathering and schedule maintenance regarding client service and program billing/tracking timelines.
  6. Perform individual program billing processes to completion specific to individual program systems and specifications; work closely with individual program staff throughout process as needed.
  7. Track billing claims for internal and subcontracted care coordinators and conduct billing file review and processing for payment.
  8. Resolve claim issues and respond to subcontracted care coordinator organizations billing inquiries, consult with program management staff and accounting department to resolve and reconcile.
  9. Participate in individual program audits specific to billing management role.
  10. Prepare quarterly and annual reporting requirements. Independently assess schedules with a high level of detail to ensure accuracy
  11. Prepare audit schedule support and be able to resolve review comments from superiors as well as auditors.
  12. Work closely with Payroll/AP Specialist to ensure proper coding of invoices as well as integration into the general ledger.
  13. Assess current processes and suggest improvements to operate more efficiently.
  14. Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritizes, and manages time efficiently.
  15. Perform account analysis

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS of the job:

  1. Must know all phases of accounting;
  2. Understanding of budgeting principles;
  3. Capable of working independently and in a team;

4.Ability to read and interpret documents and regulations pertaining to the job and to review relevant updates;

  7. Full Life Care operates state- contracted programs, familiarity with state billing processes and programs is preferable.

Educational Requirements Needed to Perform the Duties of the Job:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting/business administration with two or more years experience in related field or Associates degree with three or more years of experience;
  2. Experience with accounting software. Preferred: proficient in MIP and ADP;
  3. Advanced MS Excel and Word Processing required
