Electrical Maintenance/Fitter (industrial)

Salary: Very competitive. Paid per hour dependent on experience

Due to the company expansion M & N Electrical and Mechanical Services Ltd are seeking to employ full-time Industrial Electricians/ Electrical Maintenance Fitters to join their busy team servicing and repairing wastewater equipment for Water Utility companies across the UK. You will be working in a reactive industrial environment.

We are seeking an apprentice trained or experienced Industrial Maintenance Electricians with electrical experience maintaining industrial equipment including controls fault finding and ideally experience of the installation of production line equipment.

A company service vehicle for company use is provided together with basic PPE and specialist tools required to carry out the work & travelling will be required which may require overnight stays. Travelling will be paid. A willingness to work away from home and undertake overtime as required essential.

The successful Electrical Maintenance/Fitters must have previous experience in an engineering plant environment carrying out the following:

§  Repairing and installation of industrial electrical equipment

§  Fault finding down to Electrical component level

§  Break down cover on a Rota basis

§  Stripping and rebuilding machinery/ pumps/ heavy industrial equipment.

§  Planned preventative maintenance (Industrial equipment & pumps)

§  Experience working on PLC's would be ideal too but not essential.

§  Use of initiative and good team skills is essential to succeed in this maintenance position.

§  Basic mechanical maintenance such as lubrication, adjustments of drive components.

Salary: Competitive but dependant on experience.

Working week: 40 hour a week plus overtime which paid at time and a half. All travelling to be paid.

PERSON SPECIFICATION – Essential

Qualifications
·  Served a recognised electrical apprenticeship
Part One & Two City & Guilds or equivalent
·  Hold C&G 2380 (IEE Wiring Regs 17th Edition)
·  C&G 2391 (Inspection & Testing) desirable
Knowledge & Skills
·  Sound knowledge of Industrial electrical installation and maintenance.
·  Basic Knowledge of Health & Safety Issues in connection with the construction industry (desirable)
·  Ability to record detailed and accurate repairs information relating to jobs.
·  Access and interpret technical instructions using mobile electronic equipment.
·  Ability to prioritise workload and work in a systematic and organised manner to ensure work is completed within set timescales.
·  Ability to carry out site inspections and compile survey reports for quotation purposes.
·  Carry out fault finding down to Electrical component level.
Experience
·  Minimum of around 5 years’ practical experience working on industrial electrical equipment.
·  Experience of working with a range of portable tools, small plant & equipment to enable work to be carried out.
·  Knowledge and experience of Programmable Logic controls within the automation industry (desirable)
·  Control panel manufacture/ panel wiring and advantage (desirable).
·  Commissioning and setting up of instrumentation and controls (desirable).
·  Basic mechanical skills such as fitting bearings, seals and lubrication changes (desirable).
Interpersonal Skills
·  Able to communicate effectively to the customer and company management.
·  To work as part of a team and to co-operate with other staff / trades.
·  Conduct the work activities in a professional manner and promote a positive image of the company.
Other Factors
·  Must hold current valid driving licence.
·  Able to carry out work some distance from base which requires overnight stays.
·  Able to work outside on sites which are connected with wastewater (Sewage).
·  Capable of working at heights from scaffold platforms, ladders or mechanical equipment (desirable).
·  Undertake training and work as part of a confined space team (desirable).
·  Able to participate in repairs and maintenance out of hour’s emergency service when required.
·  Able to carry out work tasks that involve physical strength, stamina, standing, kneeling or crouching.
