JOB TITLE:Specialist Teacher ASD;

JOB PURPOSETo Lead the Resourced Provision for ASD

ACCOUNTABLE TO:School Principal

ACCOUNTABLE FOR:To be responsible for the day to day running of the ASD Resourced Provision, ensuring the student’s needs are met and that they make progress both academically and emotionally and socially.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / KEY TASKS
To lead in the supportfor students with an educational statement for ASD based within the resourced provision on a daily basis. /
  • To plan daily provision for the ASD students
  • To teach / support the timetable for the ASD students
  • To be responsible for planning, reviewing and monitoring the student’s provision and progress
  • To liaise with all staff to ensure the ASD student’s needs are met
  • To liaise with external agencies as appropriate
  • To work in partnership with parents as appropriate within the school’s system
  • To arrange reviews of the student’s needs in line with SEND national regulations and the procedures within the school
  • To support transition of the ASD students based within the Resourced Provision
  • In partnership with other staff provide appropriate training in the area of specialism

The management of staff who teach or provide support within the area of responsibility /
  • To plan timetables for support staff
  • To be involved in the Appraisal procedures of the school for staff within the Resourced Provision

Classroom experiences for the pupils /
  • To teach good or better lessons.
  • To meet or exceed the Teacher Standards, 1-7 (May 2012).
  • To ensure pupils all make expected, or better, progress.

Effective use of human and material resources within the Resourced Provision. /
  • To manage the provided budget appropriately
  • To monitor and maintain practical resources purchased for use in the Resourced Provision

Wider school activities /
  • To complete all reports according to school policy and to attend all liaison meetings with parents.
  • To engage in award evenings and other school events.
  • To work effectively in a team.
  • To meet Teacher Standard 8 (May 2012).

Personal and Professional Conduct /
  • To meet the Teacher Standards required (May 2012).
