Job Purpose and Reporting Structure:

Assist with planning, directing and coordinatingassigned programs and services in partnership with a Management Team in order to assure best practices and premier human service delivery. Support, lead, coordinate and supervise direct support staff. The Program Manager 1 reports to the Program Manager 2 and models absolute collaboration, accountability, and transparency.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Be an advocate for people with disabilities to live, work, and participate in their communities by raising concerns, initiating service development activities and assisting individuals to be more involved in the decision-making process.
  • Complete assessments and paper work and participate in the 45-Day and Annual planning process with the interdisciplinary team and implement recommendations for assigned individuals.
  • Assist with ensuring service records are in compliance with all applicable licensing standards and rules.
  • Participate in career development, employment supportsand coordinate transportation and/or transport people receiving services to/from jobs.
  • Serve as a representative of the agency to the people we serve, our community partners and external constituents. Must be able to serve as a positive role model for other employees.
  • Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills/abilities.
  • Must be willing to travel locally for work with limited overnight travel possible.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  • Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward, coach and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.

Credentials/Qualifications:

  • Two- or four-year degree, preferably in a human service or related field.
  • One year of work experience working with individuals with disabilities, which may include past employment, internships, or personal/family experience, is required.
  • Ability to meet the standards for being a designated coordinator as prescribed by 245D.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, driving record acceptable under agency policy, and reliable transportation.
  • Must pass a Department of Human Services background study.

Work Environment:

The employee in this position typically works in an office setting and in community-based settings located in Pine County while supporting individuals receiving services. The candidate will be expected to work generally Monday through Friday, day hours, but must be flexible to work evenings and weekends as required by the programs.
