1. Postion Title: Pharmacokinetics Expert / Translational Sciences

Job Description

Pharmacokinetics expert for development projects to ensure high quality, innovative and effective support to drug development and registration around the world includingChina.

  • Provide project leadership for projects around the world includingChina
  • Ensure high quality contribution to development strategies together with the global project teams and local Chinese teams
  • Provide/Ensure high quality, timely, efficient, and high standard scientific inputs to trial protocols/data analysis/reports, and regulatory submissions in China and around the world
  • Represent the pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics discipline and ensure high quality interactions with various health authorities, external investigators, and various internal Novartis Disease Area experts
  • Establish and maintain sound working relationships with partners and customers
  • Contribute to and support continuous improvement initiatives in the global pharmacokinetics & pharmacodynamics department and partner functions
  • Coach peers in the pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics discipline

Qualifications

Minimum of a Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics, or related disciplines (or equivalent degree/knowledge/expertise). At least 2-5 years of experience in pharmacokinetics or biopharmaceutics. Experience in international regulatory affairs including Chinese regulatory affairs, global drug development, project management required. Excellent verbal and written English and Chinese communication skills. Team leadership experience desired.

2. Position Title: DMBA team head / Translational Sciences

Job Description:

The DMBA (drug metabolism & bioanalytics) team head will work closely with the Translational Sciencesmanagement in the US/EU andChina to prepare for the inclusion of DMBA operations in the TranslationalSciencesCenter in Shanghai, China. This will include:

-manage DMBA support to projects/studies at the R&D center in China,

-manageactivities at CROs in China, and coordinate with global teamsfor project support

-plan and design the DMBA laboratory facilities

-recruit, interview, and hire local DMBA staff

-coordinate training activities

-provide input to local DMBA budget planning

-provide DMBA interactions with Translational Science and other Novartis China groups

-purchase equipment

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacokinetics, or equivalent; at least 7-10 years relevant experience; thorough knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a GLP bioanalytics (LC/MS/MS) lab; experience of working on project teams; knowledge of regulatory requirements (global and China specific) and experience in interacting with regulatory authorities; good recruiting/interviewing skills; good negotiation skills; good communication skills and fluency in English; fluency in spoken Chinese (Putonghua) preferred.
