I. Position: Manufacturing Administration Specialist

II. Department: Manufacturing

III. Report To: General Manager, Manufacturing

IV.Roles & Responsibilities:

Responsible for the daily scheduling of work to be done by machinistsand machine operators. Provides scheduling to shop leadership tocommunicate to staff. Follow up and stay on top of schedule for communication throughout the organization.

Perform clerical and administrative tasks to support Manufacturing Management including answering phones, ordering office supplies, scheduling appointments, etc.

Process confirmations for customers, follow up on schedules, process customer orders for shipment, and provide labeling. Escalate issues in a timely manner.

Responsible for processing Purchase Orders. Responsible for the purchasingof tooling, raw materials, etc. Purchase and schedule outside processes such as plating, heat treat, painting, machine repair, etc. and follow up with vendors as necessary.

Responsible for the negotiation of pricing and terms with all applicable vendors.

Control inventory for Machine Shop in collaboration with Materials Manager and Manufacturing leadership.

Administer work ordersutilizing MRP procedures and processes. Collaborates with and receives input from materials management and manufacturing leadership.

Responsible for processing cycle counts, may include performing cycle counts when necessary.

Liaison for facilities work.

Responsible for oversight of security codes.

Communication and coordination with purchasing, accounting, human resources, IT and other support departments.

Other duties as assigned

V.General Requirements:

  • At least one year of experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment preferred
  • APICS certification highly desirable
  • Solid PC skills
  • Must have understanding of inventory control
  • Must have understanding of MRP procedures and processes
  • Experience in scheduling/planning
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Must be able to effectively read, speak and write English
  • Be able to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Flexible, adaptable and able to work in a multi-discipline machine shop
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, growing, team environment.
  • Valid drivers’ license preferred
  • Must be reliable, dependable, and able to fulfill current shift requirements
  • Must maintain confidentiality

VI.Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit/stand at computer for up to 8 hours a day
