The Warehouse and Distribution Dept. has two sections:-

The Inbound Logistics Section is responsible for the receipt, sampling, storage and picking of Raw Materials and Packaging for the Manufacturing and Filling & Packing Departments. The receipt and processing of non-MRP items, the receipt, sorting and delivery of post & parcels to other Company departments and the final handling of any waste materials for incineration or disposal.

The Outbound Logistics section is responsible for the receipt; storage, picking and despatch of finished products for the UK domestic and export markets. The administration of Clinical Supplies materials stored in the warehouse and the control of materials stored off-site.

The products can be either controlled or non-controlled drugs.

Reporting directly to either an Inbound or Outbound Section Team Leader the position of Warehouse Technician can work rotating double day shifts 6am – 2pm (6am – 12.45pm Friday), and 1.45pm – 9.45pm (12.30pm – 7.15pm Friday) or a permanent nightshift 9pm – 7am Monday – Thursday .

A. BROAD PURPOSE OF JOB:

·  To carry out duties in the Warehouse & Distribution Department to ensure work schedules and levels of customer service are maintained.

·  To ensure that these duties are carried out in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Distribution Practice (GDP) Health & Safety, and Security standards.

B. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·  To carry out all tasks within the Section Team in accordance with the relevant Standard Operating Procedures, the section training matrix, the Company's Health and Safety policies, and security policies.

·  To operate as required all forklift trucks and mechanical handling equipment in a safe and responsible manner, and in accordance with the training provided.

·  To ensure that powered equipment is used correctly including ensuring that the batteries are topped-up, at the end of each working session the equipment is placed on charge, and that the equipment is maintained in a clean and tidy condition.

·  To locate into, and retrieve from the static, and mobile racking all materials, packaging, and non-MRP items as required.

·  To carry out computer inventory data transactions in an accurate and timely manner, using desktop and Radio Data terminals, labelling and bar code reading equipment.

·  To carry out the sampling of materials in accordance with Quality and GMP requirements wearing as required the appropriate personal protective equipment PPE or respiratory protective equipment RPE.

·  To pick, pack and label stock for despatch according to the agreed delivery schedules.

·  To carry out as required the loading, and unloading of delivery vehicles and the re-palletisation of materials.

·  To carry out the processing and recording of all work-in-progress, waste, customer returns and other items delivered into the warehouse storage areas.

·  To carry out the daily cycle counting of inventory items and related inventory system activities.

·  To ensure that the warehouse is kept clean and tidy at all times in accordance with the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice, and health and safety guidelines.

·  To attend relevant training and development courses as required.

·  To maintain a portfolio of individual training and task competence to support a level of Technician grading.

·  To carry out any other section or general warehouse duties as required.

·  To carryout out any other reasonable tasks as requested by the Company to ensure the effective operation of the section team and the Department.
