The Global Operational Excellence team will be a newly formed global department at TPI Composites. Our new team’s mission will be to develop our Production Systems and processes to the next level. A key deliverable will be the implementation of LEAN tools, processes, as well as behaviors and methodologies in our production environment.

TPI Composites, Inc. is looking for LEANExpert/Master level Managers to work in our plants in the US, Mexico, China and Turkey. The Manager of LEAN Process Improvement functions as a facilitator, manager, advisor, and educator for our manufacturing operations. These positions will function as hands-on leaders through the development of innovative operational solutions using LEAN tools and principles. Primary responsibilities are to lead the LEAN efforts and develop the skills and behaviors at all levels of the site organzation to promote a culture that will embarce these practices.

Our Global OpEx Leaders will be reporting to the global Operational Excellence Department but be placed at our Production facilities and have the responsibility to deploy operational excellence at the local level. The OpEx Leaders will have dotted line accountabilities to local management and be part of each site’s local senior leadership team.

Strong communication skills, training abilities, and demonstrated experience in implementing LEAN methodologies across multiple associate types are necessary to be successful in this type of a role at TPI Composites. In addition, strong working knowledge and practical experience with LEAN is required. An experienced leader who takes ownership and models operational excellence in everything they do is the type of candidate we are looking for in this role.

Key accountabilities/responsibilities for this role include:

  • Coach leadership, and lead the deployment of LEAN implementation process within the respective site
  • Deploy the Learning Modules of LEAN across the designated site
  • Compile defined metrics and report regularly to Senior Leadership
  • Coordinate staff, management, and leadership education of LEAN practices
  • Demonstrate the knowledge of LEAN methodology, principles and tools incorporated into daily work.
  • Direct and participate in organizational needs assessment, development of program plans, goals and objectives regarding LEAN implementation.
  • Direct evaluation, update and revisions of project plans to meet project deadlines
  • Establish and maintain a working environment conducive to positive morale, teamwork, creativity, and success.
  • Managing Kaizen activities and coaching the team on Visual Boards, and other tools
  • Monitor and report progress of projects through established metrics for each project.
  • Participate in budgeting and fiscal management of the LEAN Projects.
  • Provide regular feedback orally or in writing to Leadership
  • Serve as the point person for emerging ideas focused on the promotion of operational excellence
    Maintain and support the development of our Production System
  • Manage and assess the progress vs. the developed standard at the site, and feedback opportunities/gaps to site leadership
  • Ensuring knowledge sharing and use of best practice globally and across different parts of the manufacturing process
  • Participate as a member of the site leadership team and advise on LEAN process

Desired Skills and Experience:

Ability to formulate and lead the LEAN Project objectives. Familiar with principles of LEAN supervision and training. Effective adult learning delivery techniques. Knowledge of budgeting, cost accounting and management. Knowledge with evaluation techniques. Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy. Work involves mobility, speaking, listening, observing and the use of technology. We value practical experience in applyingLEANand /orSixSigma over a formal education.

You need to be able to work across multiple teams and disciplines and be a dedicated team player. Additionally, you haveproven experienceas project managerand has a naturalauthority in leading teams.

Must have LEAN Expert/Lean Master certification, and/or a minimum of10+years’ experience in asimilar positionina LEAN Manufacturing company

Must have excellent English skills – both orally and in writing.

It’s expected that you are an experienced user of MS Office applications

An engineering or similar focused degree is required

Experience in the wind industry is preferred but not required.

You must be able to travel internationally multiple times per year. (15-25% travel, combined domestic and international)
