Position: NationalFundraising -The British Thyroid Foundation / Starting salary: NJC scale 25 (£22,658 FTA)
Hours: 15 hours per week / Duration: up toone year contract
Reporting to: CEO - Development / Location: Harrogate, North Yorkshire

The Role:
  • Develop and deliver ambitious fundraising plans and budgets to maximisesupport, raise BTF profile, and achieve financial targets in line with the BTF Business Plan.
  • Build a close relationship with all BTF volunteers and supporters.
  • Identify opportunities and communicate a strong case for supportin funding applications, in order to develop wider income streams.
  • Support, motivate and manage individual supporters to fundraise on behalf of the BTF, engaging with a wide variety of audiences, using all available methods of communication as appropriate, including social media.
  • Research, monitor and lead on the development of existing and new BTF fundraising events, promoting and managing accordingly.
  • To be part of a team to represent the BTF at conferences and information events.
  • To keep all fundraising information updated on our website (via the webmaster) and in theBTF News.
  • Provide a report for the Board of Trustees twice a year.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the Fundraising Regulator and the new GDPR guidelines.

Person Specification and Skills:
Experience / Essential / Desirable
Fundraising experience of at least two years at national or local level.
To demonstrate the ability toseek funding opportunities.
An ability to communicate a strong case for support in funding applications and to develop wider income streams from trusts, foundations and corporate sponsorship.
Experience of setting budgets and effective management of budgets to achieve targets.
Experience of supporting, motivating and managing individual fundraisers.
Experience of managing own workload effectively and planning and organising work to meet deadlines.
Skills, abilities and personal attributes
Able to communicate with people at all levels.
Able to work as part of a small busy team.
Able to manage own workload.
IT literate and experienced in using a range of social mediaplatforms to promote fundraising events.
Able to write a convincing case for support and to raise awareness of our work to individuals and groups.
Experience of Apple Mac.
Other Requirements
Have a valid driving license.
To work outside of office hours on occasion.
Comfortable working in a small team and managing a diverse workload when necessary.
Commitment to working within the principles of equal opportunities
Travel to conferences when and where necessary.

The role offers:

  • 15 hours per week
  • NJC scale 25 (£22,658 FTA)
  • 5% employer contributions
  • 37days’ holiday (including bank holiday’s) pro-rata for part time employees
