IT Risks and Governance Officer

(5 years Fixed Term Contract)

THE EMPLOYER

The Cross-Border Road Transport Agency is a statutory authority, established in terms of Section 4 of the Cross-Border Road Transport Act, 4 of 1998, as amended, to regulate cross-border road transport.

The position will be based at the Agency’s Head Office in Menlyn. The incumbent will report directly to the Chief Information Officer.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s in Information Systems or Appropriate certification with NQF level 7
  • At least 3 years governance, risk and compliance work experience.
  • Prior IT Audit experience preferred.
  • Trained and knowledgeable in 1 or more of the following compliance standards and frameworks: ISO, COBIT, ISO17999 & ISO27001.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Directly responsible for the implementation and compliance of the CBRTA IT Governance Policy Framework.
  • Responsible for facilitating the development and maintenance of IS policies and standards and guidelines based on knowledge of best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure policies are reviewed and updated regularly.
  • Directly responsible for procedures and controls to ensure compliance with applicable IT policies and relevant regulatory and legal framework for the IT Division.
  • Responsible for IT Risk Management and Risk Monitoring.
  • Proficient in the design and implementation of effective IT controls.
  • Responsible for implementing and reviewing IT processes in accordance with the adopted IT management framework.
  • Monitor and Conduct process compliance assessments (e.g. access control, daily/weekly/monthly check lists)
  • Ensure visibility, escalation and management of IT risks inherent in the delivery of IT services.
  • Establish and oversee formal risk analysis and self-assessments program for various Information Services systems and processes.
  • Liaise with other teams i.e. Internal/External Audit; Corporate Governance & Legal and other CBRTA Divisions to support the respective IT related audits.
  • Manage and track outstanding IT remediation items in the risk management system to ensure timely completion.
