Objectives

Overall responsibility is to manage logistics and planning for meetings and events for the membership, special programs, Board of Directors. This position is detail focused and requires strong organization skills, the ability to multi-task and to employ effective time management.

Accountability

This position is accountable to the Executive Director

Annual evaluation to be performed by the Executive Director

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Safety Council Administration
  • YPA (Young Professional Association) Administration
  • Manage multiple projects and programs at the same time
  • Manage resources for meetings and events
  • Web Site
  • Database Management

Other Tasks:

  • Website, Constant Contact
  • Occasional off-site projects and events
  • Assist Executive Director and Vice President

Technology Skills

This position requires advanced computer and technology skills such as database management (ChamberMaster, Microsoft Word, Publisher, Excel), basic web site maintenance, email and Internet skills. This position requires that the employee be open and willing to attend training as necessary to learn new computer skills and programs.

Education or Experience

One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

This job is performed primarily within the Chamber office but requires some off-site meetings and special events.
