Mount Sinai Heart Global Cardiovascular Research Program is seeking an enthusiastic team player to serve as Program Coordinator, to provide support in the administration, planning, and implementation of activities related to the Global CVD Research Program. The candidate should demonstrate strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills, and be flexible and adaptable to change.

Background in program/project coordination, knowledge of public health, and health education is desirable. Experience in understanding and working with diverse cultural settings and/or international settings is also desirable. Experience in human research subjects protection protocols desirable.

The Program Coordinator I is responsible for providing operational and programmatic support services to an assigned program area. The Program provides a specific service or carries out specific activities as a separate entity or as a component program within a department, but is not a department itself. A Program is ongoing, but may have a business cycle.

1.  Management of daily operational aspects for projects as assigned

2.  Arrange and attend regular conference calls and meetings for all projects

3.  Produce, circulate and finalize agendas and minutes from calls and meetings

4.  Prepare/monitor project timelines

5.  Monitor the outcomes from the calls/meetings to advance the projects

6.  Responsible for ensuring any medical students, consultants, and volunteers working on projects are in compliance with relevant guidelines and procedure documents (CITI certificates, FCOI, etc)

7.  Contribute to preparation of NIH grant application submissions for investigators in the department, as needed

8.  Assist with research protocol development

9.  Manage required project-specific paperwork needed for grant applications (timelines, inclusion enrollment reports, participant tracker sheets, etc.)

10.  Assist with design and development of research project materials (surveys, correspondence, forms, reports, training guides, evaluation reports, job descriptions, etc.)

11.  Assist with implementation of research project procedures, as required

12.  Lead in communication with all subcontracting partners and funding institutions, domestically and abroad

13.  Assist in development of abstracts, posters, manuscripts and facilitating communication between co-authors and journals

14.  Contribute to writing of annual progress reports for each project to funding agencies (including NIH and AHA, among others), as well as research consortia as required

15.  Assist with developing figures to be used in abstracts, journal papers, and other sources

16.  Assist with analysis and interpretation of the data, and assist with content analysis of qualitative data

17.  Assure all study documentation is maintained in compliance with all applicable guidelines and corresponding procedures documents.

18.  Manage volunteers and students, as needed

19.  Assist with monitoring data collection and maintaining a clean and trusted database for research projects, as required

20.  Assist with Mount Sinai IRB Submission activities (new submissions, modifications, annual renewals) including assistance with ethics review boards of partnering institutions globally.

21.  Maintains liaison with staff in other departments to coordinate program activities and training; to accomplish program objectives; and to ensure cooperative efforts are enhanced and available resources are utilized.

22.  Assists in administering program procedures and systems. May ensure information is disseminated to staff regarding program and Mount Sinai Medical Center’s policies and procedures.

23.  Provides assistance to staff in assigned areas to ensure program objectives are accomplished.

24.  Assists in monitoring and evaluating program effectiveness; demonstrates continuous efforts to improve support operations and systems, to streamline work processes and to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the program.

25.  Other administrative and office duties as required (e.g. procurement of equipment and supplies, maintain inventory of equipment and supplies, shipping, etc.)
