Berkeley Vale Before and After School Care
Coordinator
The Berkeley Vale Parents and Citizens Association oversee three successful business units on behalf of the families and community of Berkeley Vale Public School. The schools OOSH (Out of School Hours) Centre is one of these businesses.
The position of Coordinator has recently become available and the Berkeley Vale P&C are looking to find the best candidate to fill this highly sought-after role. We are seeking applications from enthusiastic and suitably qualified individuals who could lead our team of dedicated educators.
Our long established OOSH provides local families with a professional and high quality Before and After School Care Program as well as Vacation Care for 5-12 year olds (with approval for 74 students OOSH and 59 students vacation care with the possibility of growth in numbers). The OOSH is a purpose built cottage on the grounds of Berkeley Vale Public School and has 60 Aboriginal students.
About the role:
ü Permanent full time position.
ü Regular 38 hours per week with flexible shifts. This salaried position will be remunerated in accordance with the Children’s Services Modern Awards 2010.
ü Hours of operation for Before and After School Care are 6:30am-9:00am & 3:00pm-6:30pm Monday to Friday during school terms.
ü Hours of operation for Vacation Care are 7:30am-6:00pm Monday to Friday during school holidays, which may include incursions and excursions.
ü The Coordinator is responsible for providing feedback to, and liaising with, the P&C at various meetings.
In your application please address the following criteria:
1. A Degree or Diploma in Children’s Services and/or Education with highly developed interpersonal, organisational and communication skills when dealing with key stakeholders.
2. Demonstrated capacity to lead professional learning for staff to ensure innovative programs for students.
3. Capacity to lead implementation and compliance of the National Quality Framework and the National Quality Standards.
4. Demonstrated skills in managing the day-to-day operation of a Before and After School and Vacation Care.
Requirements:
ü Current Working With Children Check.
ü Demonstrated leadership, with previous experience as a Coordinator of an OOSH, or similar leadership role.
ü Current Supervisor’s Certificate (or willingness to undertake).
ü Current Child Protection, First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training.
ü Sound knowledge of WHS requirements and risk management principles.
ü Strong knowledge of a variety of technologies as well as a demonstrated ability to oversee and manage staff, in conjunction with the P&C.
