PASTORAL CARE AT YOUR LOVED ONE’S PASSING
Our Trinity household would like to support you at the impending death, or death of your loved one. Our staff is on call to support you twenty-four hours a day. We can also connect you with someone who has had a similar experience or refer you to other caring professionals.
AT THE TIME OF DEATH
Most funeral arrangements are made by the family of the deceased at the time of death or just prior to it. The family usually contacts the funeral home of their choice which will contact a minister about arrangements. You are also welcome to phone our Minister at this time. Our resident minister will conduct and co-ordinate the service. If you wish other minister(s) to participate in the service, please ask the resident minister to invite them to do so. The minister will call you to discuss the funeral, to offer support and prayer, to begin to help you to grieve, make referrals for further support if it is required; and to be of any other assistance that is possible.
Interments are commonly held the same day as the funeral service while the family is gathered. If other arrangements need to be made, that can be arranged with the minister.
SUPPORT SERVICES OFFERED AT TRINITY
We would be honoured to assist you in creating a funeral for your loved one. Funeral or memorial services are often conducted in the chapel of the funeral home or in the church sanctuary.
Trinity can provide a reception following a funeral or memorial service. Tea, coffee, juice, squares and small sandwiches can be provided. Bulletins for the worship service and sound tapes of the funeral can also be arranged.
ROSE GARDEN
As an alternative to traditional burial, you may wish to consider scattering your loved one’s ashes around Trinity’s beautiful Rose Garden. A service much like a graveside interment would be held with your personal touches and a posted bronze plaque bearing your loved one’s name would be mounted at the current cost.
