Plans after graduation:I plan to attend Piedmont Technical

College for one year and then transfer

to Clemson University to major in

Computer Science.

Interests:I enjoy guitar, piano, voice, soccer,

photography, computers, electronics,

and making a difference

Thoughts on homeschooling:Best part: Sleeping in. Asking as

many questions as needed.

Worst part: Not feeling quite as

motivated to have assignments done

on time.

Hillary Faith Cooper

Plans after graduation:I will be attending Washington &

Lee University in Lexington, VA. I

plan to study English with a focus

on writing and journalism

Dana Breanne Dorn

Daughter of Robert and Shereè Dorn

Years homeschooled:10 years

Plans after graduation:I plan to attend Piedmont Technical

College in the Fall. I will be entering

the Nursing Program. I hope to be

a traveling nurse when I graduate

from college.

Interests:I enjoy singing, swimming, dancing, riding my four wheeler, baby-sitting, bowling, spending time with friends,

going to the Drag Strip, and just riding

around in my beautiful car.

Thoughts on homeschooling:Best part: Being able to have one on

one schooling. I believe this gave me

a better education.

Worst part: I had to do every single

lesson in my Saxon Math Book. This

sometimes took 2 hours every day!

Emily Ann Guire

Daughter of Chris and Edith Guire

Plans after graduation:I plan to attend North Greenville

University to pursue a Christian

counseling degree.

Interests:I enjoy singing specials at church,

painting and drawing, reading

Christian fiction such as Karen Kings- bury, creative ministries, writing, teaching myself to play the piano, and Spanish missions.

Achievements and Awards:Three State Perfect Bible Drill

Wildwood by Abbeville Garden Club,

and Creative Writing Award.

Thoughts on homeschooling:Best part: Having a strong Christian

education

Worst part: Having to get dressed for

school (haha) because my mom didn’t

let us wear our pajamas!

Grace Lee Anne Halsey

Daughter of Tom & Linda Halsey

Plans after graduation:I plan to attend either Bryan College or

Patrick Henry College and eventually

Law School.

Interests:I enjoy debating and all that goes into it,

reading late into the night, cooking for

family and friends, hanging out with

friends and becoming closer to God

through the process of growing up.

Achievements and Awards:Participated in all SC Qualifiers from 2006-

2009, Honor Society member 2008-2010, Up

state Area Debate Club Novice Tournament

6th Place 2008; and Treasure of Upstate

Homeschool Honor Society 2008.

Thoughts on homeschooling:Best part: Trying to explain to the rest of the

world what homeschooling is really like and

watching the confused look on their faces,

and getting to enjoy the relationships that

come from know-ing your family so well.

Worst part: Being busy all the time because

the pursuit of an excellent education is a

constant process.

Rosann Gilland Jones

Daughter of Townes and Rosann Jones

Years homeschooled:10 years

Plans after graduation:I am taking a year off from school to

travel and work. I would then like to

attend Yale and major in Drama.

Interests: I practice yoga, love to travel with my

family, read almost anything, I am a

master pancake chef, and music

theater is my true love

Thoughts on homeschooling:Best part: Missing out on all the

drama associated with large groups of

teenagers.

Worst part: Missing out on all the

drama associated with large groups of

teenagers.
