Fun Night and Dance TONIGHT! 5th grade will be from 6:00 to 7:30. 6th grade will be from 6:00 to 8:30. 7th and 8th grade from 7:30 to 10:00. On the last dance of the year the 6th grade get to stay an extra hour with the 7th and 8th grade. Admission is $3. Students must be passing all classes and completed all F packets. Thanks again to the Booster Club for sponsoring dances this year.
Saturday School is tomorrow, May 7. This is a change from the school calendar.
In celebrating the month of the military child, 8th graders collected items in April to donate to the Topeka VA Hospital. Students brought in personal care items, clothes, and many other needed items and delivered them to the VA on May 4. The Topeka VA hospital accepts donations Monday through Friday from 8-4pm. These donations help inpatient and outpatient veterans. After delivering the needed items and seeing the facility, students had the opportunity to visit with the veterans and ask questions about services provided at the VA, their personal tour of duty, and listen to stories veterans have of their own children growing up with parents in the military. The veterans enjoyed our visit and invited us to return next year. Our school nurse, Abby Martin, spearheaded this service project with Rachel Moulden.
A reminder that students must be passing all of their classes and completed all F packets to attend reward trips.
Another reminder as the year ends to make sure that all financial obligations are taken care of.
Assessments – Students have completed all state assessments. This week students will take a MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) in Math and Reading.
