RECRUITER

JOB DESCRIPTION

A. Position Summary

The Recruiter is responsible for the promotion of the college in order to increase student enrollment. The recruiter also coordinates recruitment activities with area middle and high schools; provides information materials and services to prospective students, counselors, and the community at large.

B. Organizational Reporting

The Recruiter is directly responsible to the Dean of Student Affairs.

C. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities

As a minimum, the essential functions of the Recruiter are:

1. to develop and coordinate an effective recruiting plan for all facets

of the college’s service area;

2. to serve as an advocate for the college to government, higher education,

service area high schools, business and industry and the community at

large;

3. to ensure appropriate information is placed on the access channel and

the community bulletin board;

4.  to present awards at class nights at area high schools;

5.  to ensure that the college has a booth at area festivals, such as William Station Day, Blueberry Festival, and MayFest;

6.  to ensure the distribution of timely, accurate information;

7. to ensure that hospitality is coordinated and extended to those attending

functions sponosored by the college;

8. to maintain a positive relationship with the local media, area high schools, and the community at large;

9. to increase the awareness of new and existing programs and services;

10. to serve as chair of the college’s recruiting committee, and ;

11. to assist with registration.

D. Other Responsibilities

To assume other work related responsibilities as assigned by the Dean of Student Affairs, the President or his/her designee.

E. Performance Evaluation

The Recruiter will be evaluated annually by the Dean of Student Affairs.

F. Qualifications

The Recruiter must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and must demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills.

·  Manual dexterity

·  Ability to manage stress and time well

·  Mastery of appropriate computer skills

·  Ability to work well with others

·  Ability to bend, kneel and reach

·  Willingness to work flexible hours to include evening, week-end work as needed

·  Mastery of standard business office equipment (calculator, copier, fax machine, telephone system

·  Mastery of camera equipment

·  Ability to operate a motor vehicle

·  Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time

·  Ability to supervise others

·  Mastery of basic mathematics skills, such as percentages and fractions

·  Willingness to travel as appropriate

·  Ability to lift objects weighing twenty-five pounds

H. Salary Schedule

The salary schedule for this position is based on State Salary Schedule C3.
