Jean Przybylek currently serves as Vice President, Operations for Women’s Health at NorthwesternMemorialHospital, one of the country’s leading academic medical centers located in Chicago, IL. With primary responsibility for operations within Prentice Women’s Hospital, a mid-west regional Perinatal Center with over 10,500 deliveries annually including general Labor and Delivery suites, Evaluation Observation Triage, 134 bed Obstetrical and 36 bed Gynecology Services, 86 bay Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, OB Ultrasound, Developmental Evaluation Clinic and the Ambulatory Care Clinic. As with the Feinberg/Galter relocation, she is involved in the day-to-day planning activities and the move logistics for the new Prentice Women’s Hospital a 900,000 sq. foot replacement facility including diagnostic floors and operating rooms which opened on October 20, 2007. Prior to this role, Ms. Przybylek served as the Vice President, Operations for the hospital’s Real Estate, Facilities and Patient Support Services. From 1998 through 2001, Ms. Przybylek served as President of the Streeterville Corporation for Northwestern Memorial HealthCare Corporation, the holding company for the hospital’s commercial real estate portfolio. As part of her building and patient services responsibilities, sheplayed an integral role in the planning,development and future expansion of both the hospital’s Retail Program and the NM Arts Program, initiatives that supported the hospital’s Patients First mission by enhancing the healing environment through the Feinberg/Galter Pavilion and campus facilities. Ms. Przybylek also worked closely with the City of Chicago Office of Emergency Management post September 2001 in support of emergency management planning for NorthwesternMemorialHospital and the community. Ms. Przybylek joined the Northwestern Memorial organization in 1973 as a staff nurse in the Medical Intensive Care Unit and held many positions in critical care, cardiac and surgical nursing and nursing administration before entering hospital management. Her leadership has contributed to an innovative approach to retail leasing within hospital properties. In addition to her work at Northwestern Memorial, Ms. Przybylek has made a number of presentations both locally and nationally on medical and hospital redevelopment topics. She is a member of the American Nurses Association (ANA), American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE), Illinois Organization of Nurse Leaders (IONL), Association of Women’s Health, Obstetrical and Neonatal Nurses (AWHON), Council of Women’s and Infants Specialty Hospitals (CWISH), Women’s Health Executive Network (WHEN), the Girl Scouts of Chicago and serves on the Near North Health Service Corporation Boards of Directors, a federally qualified health care center. Ms. Przybylek received her BS in Nursing from DePaulUniversity and holds a Masters of Science degree from RushUniversity’s College of Nursing in Chicago.
