In this vital role, you will oversee domestic and international truckload, LTL, ocean and airfreight shipments.You will partner with co-workers and freight forwarding companies to determine the most cost effective solution while ensuring the timely delivery of Bystronic machinery and parts. You must also maintain compliance of US Customs regulations and C-TPAT requirements.
Specifically, you will
- Be responsible for overseeing the coordination of Import & Export of product including compliance related to documentation
- Be accountable for conducting rate analysis of import/export vendors ensuring Bystronic maintains competitive rates and prepares proposals
- Collaborate with the Service Department to coordinate timely transportation of Bystronic equipment aligning with customer installation.
- Be responsible for coordinating O.D loads with carriers as needed for equipment as wells ensures accurate Tariff Classification and appropriate coding of new parts or equipment.
- Be responsible for coordinating the delivery of equipment with internal and external customers utilizing appropriate/diverse communication channels
- Be responsible for critical internal documentation of ongoing shipping/receivables.
- Be accountable for arranging/organizing outbound LTL shipments of spare parts
- Obtain and documents freight quotes and estimated transit times on truckload and LTL shipments
- Be responsible for initiating Customs documentation such as Commercial Invoices and Bills of Lading as required for exports
- Coordinate storage of equipment at warehouses as needed at destination port of call
- Establish a strong, fluid communication of information between respective departments and functional areas including senior leadership
- Maintain Tariff Classification on new parts additions and monitoring US Customs changes of classes utilizing Bystronic systems and adhering to internal standards and processes.
We require:
An Associate’s degree or five (5) years of job related experience, preferably in traffic and logistics functions within sales, service function within manufacturing industry driven by customer service or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Previous, related work experience within Sales/Service group delivering high levels of customer service within manufacturing industry. Experience with Heavyline Haul including work with over-dimensional permit loads. Past exposure with flat-bed Air Ride shipments desirable. Experience with export requirements and NAFTA regulations required and past experience working within organizations that comply with C-TPAT requirements.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
General underwriting of US/International import and export regulations.
Proficient with MS Office Windows 10. Hands on experience with SAP and C-TPAT
Capable of working with high level detail, follow up, heavy workload and multi-tasking with intense focus
