Background

Jawun Indigenous Corporate Partnerships is a not for profit organisation, established in 2001 and leverages the capabilities of corporate and philanthropic Australia to support innovative programs of change in Indigenous communities.

Jawun offers opportunities to individuals from both private and public sectors with relevant skills and experience to participate in secondments to Aboriginal organisations.

The program supports the Aboriginal Employment Strategy 2011-2015: Building a diverse public sector workforce by providing short term secondments into Aboriginal organisations as part of a leadership development program for non−Aboriginal participants.

The Public Sector Commission is facilitating the participation of one secondee in eachof the East and West Kimberley intakes, respectively.

Nominations are currently being sought for Public Sector Officers (Level 7 and above) to take part in the secondment to Indigenous communities throughout the East and West Kimberley in Western Australia aimed at capacity building and skills transfer. These secondments will provide a unique development opportunity for public sector leaders of the future.
