Jamarreo is a 19 year old student. He has interests in welding and working on cars. He enjoys doing the detail work on the cars. Jamarreo has a hobby of fixing up cars that are entered in stock car races to win money Jamarreoenjoyed working part-time in his uncle's welding shop. Jamarreo is very outgoing. Jamarreo has an interest in making money. He also enjoys music and likes to listen to it while he is working. However, he does not understand the consequences of not having an education in order to make the money he wants. Jamarreo has expressed a strong disliking of school, however, he has maintained passing grades in 10th and 11th grade. Jamarreoenjoys working with others. Jamarreohas good interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic. Jamarreoneeds to be redirected to hobbies and jobs that are not illegal. Jamarreo also needs to work on his safety skills especially if he is going to be working in the area of welding.

Jamarreo wears a hearing aid to help with moderate hearing loss and he also lip reads and uses sign language in order to communicate. His speech is intelligible. He needs preferential seating in the classroom. Verbal instruction should occur where Jamarreo can see the speaker's face. He often needs extended time to complete assignments due to his behavior and time off task.

In the past Jamarreo has exhibited behavioral outbursts including yelling and loud cursing when things did not go his way. Parents are concerned that he displays inappropriate aggressive behavior when redirected by adult family members. He does not accept feedback and/or criticism well, and has been in some trouble with the local police. His parents are concerned about his safety in career related activities and his participation in illegal activities. He has a behavior plan to address appropriate communication skills and appropriate behaviors for group interaction. He often makes poor choices concerning his peer group and choosing to be with older students who have arrest records.

On a career assessment taken recently, Jamarreo shows that he is likely to be a serious and dedicated employee. He exhibits strengths in the area of mechanical work. To keep him from dropping out of high school at age 15, his special education teacher and uncle worked to develop a program that included career related courses, paid work experiences and job related training.

Recent OGT scores indicate that Jamarreo performed proficient in math and science with strengths in numbers sense and operations, as well as measurement and geometry. He scored basic in reading, writing and social studies, with limited skills in predicting and drawing conclusions in reading and organizing information in his writing. Academically, he has maintained average grades in comparison to his peers on summative assessments.
