Women’s International Group of Cambodia (WIG) is a non-profit organisation founded in 1994. The WIG organisation itself is formed from an informal and social group of women living and in some cases, working in Cambodia. With a hundred or more members typically in the WIG organisation at any given time, we benefit from a rich variety of nationalities, cultures and backgroundsacross a full range of age groups. As one of our primary goals, WIG is committed to offering assistance to disadvantaged women and children in Cambodia who are organised in a group or association. To date WIG has successfully distributed grants and aid to numerous NGOs, villages, schools, shelters, training centres, orphanages and hospitals and, will continue to strive to support such worthy causes.

To apply for funding from WIG please read the guidelines on the back page of this documentand return the completed form below with all the information requested in the boxes shown. Please ensure that you provide as much information as is reasonable to enable us to properly assess your project. Please do not assume that we will have heard of your Project or your organisation before.

Following receipt of your application for Funding, we will follow our internal assessment process. As a first step it will be assessed based on the information you provide and our own desk based research to identify your group and its history. If your application passes this first stage and if it is deemed viable, the second stage is thata team from the WIG Community Fund (WCF) Committee will contact you to arrange to visit your project to conduct a full assessment of it and your organisation. Having concluded this site visit, the final stage is that our team will maketheir recommendations to the full WCF Committee. Following this occurring, you will then be advised of their decision once this process has been fully completed.

WIG Funding Guidelines

YOU MUST INCLUDE ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WITH YOUR APPLICATION
  1. A complete list of equipment/ materials that you are requesting. Please list the items in order of priority.
  2. A pro-forma invoice or quote from a local supplier for the equipment/ materials that you are requesting. (Without this we will not be able to start the assessment process).
  3. Your child protection policy (if you have one).
  4. Your refuse disposal / keeping the environment clean plan (if you have one).
  5. Any further information about the project e.g. a flyer, a leaflet, any pictures or, supporting information that will assist our initial assessment.
  6. Your last year’s budget (that is, a full year’s budget)
  7. A map of the project’s location, including significant landmarks so that the project can be located and, should it progress to the second stage, so that it can be easily visited for assessment.
Please now review the following guidelines of this application document which clearly indicate what projects or activities that WIG and the WCF is unable to fund. Please read this before completing this form as if we cannot fund your request, we may be able to refer you to another organisation.

a)All proposals presented to the WCF must be accompanied by a completed application form.

b)WIG can only consider projects up to US$2,000 per year. Special cases may be considered and this may be increased in limited circumstances.

c)Assessment visits will be made within the borders of Cambodia, dependent on availability of funds allocated by WIG Executive Committee and willingness of Project Support Group members to travel to these locations.

d)Emergency requests will be considered from disadvantaged groups that suffer catastrophic losses from fire, floods, etc., up to US$2,000.

e)Organisations that receive funding from WIG will be revisited to confirm items are being used appropriately.

f)Receipts for all goods purchased must be provided within one month of receiving funds.

g)Upon completion, each approved project will be required to submit a short report with photographs. All photographs should be approved by the Project sponsor as being able to be published by WIG should it choose to do so to promote its core activities.

WIG WILL NOT FUND THE FOLLOWING:

  • Support to individuals
  • Grants for food
  • School fees
  • Ongoing salaries
  • Utility fees (e.g. electricity, water, telephone, etc)
  • Accommodation, Land, Office of Facilities Rent
  • Consumables (although, in certain cases some consumables may be considered on a case by case basis)
  • Motorised vehicles purchase or, expenses
  • Building construction although, on a case by case basis, construction of immovable assets on property owned by the organisation applying for funding may be considered
  • Science facilities, computers, videos and other high tech or electrical items (although, please note that on a case by case basis, some exceptions may be made for medical related items
  • Support where government funding is available as an alternative source of funding
  • No government organisations can be supported whatsoever
