Ivy Academia High School Dance Rules

In order to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all students and guests, the following rules apply:

1.  It is mandatory that students attend all scheduled classes on Friday, January 29th 2016 in order to be eligible to attend Homecoming. An absence list will be used for verification. Those people who did not attend all scheduled classes (and their date) may be restricted from attending Homecoming.

2.  No one will be admitted without an Ivy I.D. card or an official Guest pass and some form of picture I.D. Only guests 20 years of age or under will be permitted to attend.

3.  Tickets will not be sold at the door.

4.  Doors will close at 8:00 p.m. No one will be admitted after that time. The dance will end at 12.00 a.m. Once you enter The Odyssey, you must stay until you are ready to leave for the evening. There will be no readmittance if you leave.

5.  This is a school activity, and Ivy students and/or their guests are not allowed to smoke.

6.  Inappropriate, defiant or unruly conduct will result in immediate removal. Any pupil who violates this rule will lose the privilege of participating in future activities, including the graduation ceremony and other activities specifically for seniors.

7.  A student/guest found in possession of or under the influence of alcohol or other substances will not be allowed to remain at the Homecoming and will lose the privilege of participating in future activities. The student will also be subject to suspension and/or expulsion from school pursuant to Ed Code 48900. If he/she violates this rule, the school staff will make every effort to contact the parent and prevent the student/guest from driving.

8.  Breath testing equipment will be available to the Administrators and Security Personnel for testing of students/guests suspected of alcohol use, if the student disputes the fact that he/she has consumed alcohol. A breath test showing any level of alcohol consumption may, for the purposes of these rules, be considered evidence that the student/guest is under the influence of alcohol.

9.  Dress Code Boys: a) Jacket and tie required, no jeans, no sagging pants; b) shirts must be tucked in at all times, any student/guest who removes his shirt will be asked to leave – vests are not a suitable substitute; c) no canes, no chains.

10.  Dress Code Girls: a) Dresses may have spaghetti straps, halter-tops or even be strapless; b) Dresses are not to have “plunging” necklines or have bra straps showing c) Dresses are not to have bare midriffs and are not to have slits beyond mid-thigh; d) Backless dresses may not be cut below the natural waistline; e) Dresses that are laced together may not reveal bare skin; f) Dresses with sheer panel in the bodice portion will not be allowed.

LIMOUSINE SERVICES:

Ivy Academia High School does not endorse the use of limousines, in general, but cautions those who use limousines to be certain that the service they hire is licensed with the Public Utilities Commission. The limousine service should show you their license prior to signing a contract.
