ITEM 404 – PRECAST CATCH BASIN

Note to Designer:Consider the following for pipes larger than 1350 mm.

Add

404.2.5Catch basins with openings for 1500 mm and larger shall be test fit at the plant.

Replace

404.4.8.1Holes shall not be more than 50 mm greater in diameter than the outside diameter of the connecting pipe for connecting pipe diameters less than 900 mm, and shall not be more than 100 mm greater in diameter than the outside diameter of the connecting pipe for connecting pipe diameters equal to or greater than 900 mm.

ITEM 407 – FRAME WITH GRATE OR COVER

Note to Designer:Add the following statement unless the contract is for work on a roadway that will be maintained by a municipality which prefers a CB frame & grate different from the NBDTI standard.

Note to Designer:For median catch basins at the bottom of a sag, or for catch basins in other locations where the rate of runoff into the frame & grate will be unusually high, add the following:
